99 Farming

Finally got it after ~2.5 months. Decided to just go for it because it's a low effort 99 and has the nicest looking skillcape in my opinion. Now I can log in and out without having to worry about messing up my farming cycles.



I actually had to wait an hour before I could buy the cape because I accidentally thieved the guy and he wouldn't talk to me Probably also going to be starting a progress thread later today or tomorrow if anyone cares.

 

Congratulations man! That's real dedication. Do you only play 07 or Rs3 as well?

At the moment I'm only playing 07. I was looking into maybe starting up RS3, but I'm not really a fan of what the game's evolved into and the graphics style is a big turnoff for me.

I think it cost me around 115m in total, but it looks like prices have dropped a little bit, so I might have saved a few mil if I had bought the seeds on a use-by-use basis rather than all at once. I also made farming payments for quite a few days (which is not cost-efficient), just because I wanted to finish up the level quicker. I think it should cost ~100m if you don't make any payments and just use supercompost/fertile soil instead.

Spirit seeds are pretty hard to come by in OSRS (I know they can be farmed a lot more easily in RS3). Even running my kingdom with 10 workers on trees, I only got 2 spirit seeds in ~40 days. As for calquats, I planted a few, but wasn't really consistent on incorporating them in my daily runs. For the most part, I just planted palms/magics with the occasional herb run in between.

Definitely, I do think the untrimmed cape looks better though >_<

It was actually the master farmer npc with the skillcape that I thieved, there's a delay before he talks to you after you steal from him

I really think you should give it a go, there is so much more content and you can still play like it's 07 (with the combat style and such) Ironman is the way to go =)

 

Wow, I recognize almost nothing from that picture If I were to start RS3 it would definitely be on an ironman though, how are you liking it so far?

aweomse, congratz. I loved farming, first things i did before i got on and got off when getting 99, the hard part is just getting back into it after not doing for a long time

Congratulations! Did you ever calculate how much you'd have made if you did profitable patches? Like ranarr/snapdragon, etc.

Well done. I did a few weeks of farming and got to 79 and that's also when I stopped playing 07. I started focusing on melee stats as PVM was the main reason I got back. Takes too long to NMZ and sort of gave up but I recently started playing again.

Farming is definitely one of my favorite skills, but it was annoying only being able to log in and out at certain times.

I think it would have been ~23k profit per ranarr patch (the most profitable one), so I might have made back ~25% of the costs if I had consistently done 3-5 runs a day. I didn't find it worth doing considering I only had access to 4 patches, but I did plant torstols closer to 99 mainly for the xp.

I agree, it's enjoyable seeing what other people are up to in the game, even if those big staking galleries kind of overshadow the other threads

I see, what stats does your account have now? End-game PVM is also the biggest reason I'm leveling up, but I just decided to get 99 farming along the way because it only took ~15 mins out of each day.
