RS item exchange

I suggest that one should not be allowed to vouch for trades that are in-game for in-game.
For example;

(I don't mean to offend this person, it was just something I saw whilst flicking through threads)

This person is selling in game items, for in game cash. There is absolutely no trust required here as if the items are not right you have two chances to decline the trade. Yet people are still vouching him on the thread.

I checked stickies in the section and there is nothing about this.
This involves even less trust than graphics section where you at least trust the designer to send you a non-watermarked version after you send payment.

People can vouch for whatever they like, people even vouch for people they've done quests for... it's up to any potential buyers to look at vouches and determine the level of trust

 

They can't vouch graphics which is marginally more trust.

Questing involves trusting someone with your account.

 

I agree with millz. If GFX can't be vouched, it seems a lot less reasonable to allow vouches for something that involves no trust whatsoever.

Roary, quest vouches are based on the risk of an account vs. RSGP or real money and therefore represent trust in a possible scam situation with tangible value. They seem much more valid than in-game trades with no scam potential, and are thus deserving of a vouch where in-game trades are not, in my opinion.

 

GFX requires A LOT more trust then questing kits. Questing kits has 0 trust, you just have to make sure all of the items are in the trade screen.

Vouches for graphics aren't my choice, and you can leave recommendations which do the same thing anyway.

I meant someone saying "Vouch, did a quest for them". Trusting someone with your account doesn't require you to be trusted.


People determine what vouches are worth by reading them. Only a fool would stop at "100 vouches" and think, wow you're trusted without reading them.

 

Or one of the many new Sythe users who never come back to the site after getting scammed? People tell them to trade with those who are vouched and they don't know any better yet.

How hard is it to make a sticky that would prevent this.

 

It takes a lot of time to get a quest kit on 07, why shouldn't they be vouched. We have ample stickies all over the forums, dumb people will always be scammed no matter how many threads, announcements and precautions we put in place.

 

Because a vouch is a mark of trust not of ones ability to merch or trade in RS.

 

Completing a service is the same as selling someone gold.


If you start disallowing vouches for petty things, it'll get to the point where we're saying "you can't vouch for someone if they go first" - there's no trust there either really.

 

exactly, people are allowed to vouch for whoever they want regardless of service rendered (graphics being the exception) or simply if they feel that person is trusted, I've done it on many occasions on my friends omm apps. We can't stop people from giving out vouches no matter how silly they may seem.

 

A vouch should potentially be for a good service provided as well as a trusted trade. But that's just my opinion.

 

Quantity over quality, my friend. You can vouch for almost anything, the reason gfx vouches were made against the rules was because of the following:

I could jump on paint, write "asapgang" and then get a vouch for it, people were abusing the system intact.

I believe there is no trust involved, an too don't agree they hold be able to receive vouches. But it's solely up to the user I determine ones trustworthiness, if you base this off of their vouches for quest kits, then that's your fault.

 

I could jump on RS trade you 2 onion seeds for 10gp and get a vouch for it...Within the rules.

 

Quality over quantity.

 

This has been discussed many, many times. We encourage users to closely examine traders' vouches and take into account the quality for themselves.
