"RS Is dying"

Recently i've seen TONS of these threads complaining about how RS is such a shit game now and how bad it is and from what I've seen the main problem is the community and that's what everyone is saying but what i'm wondering is with how many people agreeing that the community is the problem ex. "SIT DOWN KID" "Gtfo" "Dropped" ect, but with probably 3/4 of the community agreeing then how many of them are ALSO the problem? I'm not saying i've never said stuff like this while pking and stuff but I think what we need to realize is if we want rs to start being more user friendly we need to contribute as well... I've recently started zerk projects with best friend irl and it's honestly the most fun i've had on RS in a long while and I hope when I go pking I can keep my emotions intact and just lead by example and not flame ect.


Remember when RS was fun and if you didn't know something you could just ask someone and they would be more then happy to help you? Not for a reward but just to be nice? The community is really what makes or breaks a game.

Some of this may not make sense, kinda late where I am but ask any questions and i'll try and clarify ... lol

 

Hmm I know where you are leading this thread towards.

Back in 2005, majority of the players are just kids (8-12 years old) and may think of life as simple. Children tends to offer help whenever they can.

Now most of the kids have grown up and are more money-conscious. They will think about their own benefits before helping another person. I am not saying all of us are like that but across the board, most do think this way.

So instead of saying "Bring back the old Runescape!" or " RS community sucks", we should are lead by examples. Let the spirit of giving and sharing continue and it should start from us. It's good that you have given this advice.

Tbh I think eventually they will realize the game is going to die, so they will just release a secret update that allows bots to work again, thus bringing in many more memberships and accounts.

I've been playing RuneScape since 2005, numbers have gone up and down, but averagely they are starting to drop now. Who knows, maybe Jagex will pull off something smart and bring back old players again. Would have to be something pretty good though.

Anyways back on topic. RS isn't "dying" anytime soon, obviously you just have to remember the vocal minority is almost always negative.

Anyways, Runescape is only going downhill for people who played from the early days. I myself played back then and loved it but the new updates are bringing in a new crowd.

 

It is a bunch of 12 year olds now. If money is what Jagex wants, they got it.

Anyways, back in November when f2p were removed from the hiscores, if you checked the last page of hiscores back then and compared them to now, you'd see the massive amount of subscriptions they've gained, and you'd finally realize that it's silly to say this game is dying.

 

Guys if you aren't aware I wasn't so much pointing out how RS is dying I was saying how the community is shit and everyone is complaining but they aren't making any movement to fix it... Everyone is a part of the community so it is everyones job to fix the community if they don't like it.

 

Obviously you're new, the community has always been terrible.

 

From reading your post on this tread alone I gather that you're an idiot. Obviously you're some 06 hero who thinks he knows everything about the game. As OP said, back in the day people were friendly. You could ask for help, or just chat with anybody. There were minimum flamers and know it alls like yourself.
