rockbox

kk so I am thinking of getting rockbox on my ipod nano first generation and I have some questions so if anyone has rockbox on their ipod please help me answer them
1. Can I delete rockbox if I do not want it anymore?
2. How much space does rockbox take up on my ipod?
3. My battery power is very low will rockbox increase it?
4. Does rockbox damage my ipod?

 

Well, I think I don't know one thing about an ipod, but I'll try.

It appears that you can install and uninstall it, so I think you should be able to delete it. Rockbox is basically a replacement for the current firmware on an audio device, but it doesn't remove the original firmware, in most cases.

Rockbox does not take up much space at all, but I am not certain of how much space it actually takes up.

It shouldn't damage your iPod in any way, but I've seen around that it can be somewhat unstable at times in a 5.5 GB iPod, or something to that extent.

Answer 1: Yes you can uninstall it. All you have to do is restore your ipod. Just make sure you really want to people most of the newer updates don't have ways to get it back on. Unless you wait.

Answer 2: Not sure, but it's not to bad. If it was bad no one would have wanted to use it.

Answer 3: No it won't increase it. Batteries after a while just lose power to hold its charge. Since it's an older ipod that might be the problem. You can try to turn down the brightness or other settings that might kill the battery.

Answer 4: No it doesn't damage it, AS LONG AS YOU DO IT RIGHT! Make sure you follow 100% whatever guide you read/watch. It's really easy to brick your ipod if you do one small thing wrong.
Also, your warranty will be voided. You ipod probably doesn't have a valid warranty on it since it's older, but that goes with every ipod you feel like modding. So make sure your warranty is over or is you just do care go for it.
