I disagree, considering the incredibly weak landscape + top heavy AFC, all it would take are a couple of upsets to completely turn the landscape of the AFC around.

The Steelers would certainly show up in games versus the Patriots & Broncos. And while I wouldn't slate them the favorites, I would say they could win. Didn't Ben throw 6 tds in successive weeks? That's a sign of a pretty premier offense to me.

Crushed two pretty good teams those weeks too.

Losing to the Bucs + Jets is a focus issue more than a talent issue.

It's more their defense that I'm worried about - particularly them ranking 20th in pts allowed per game currently. I'd argue that defense wins championships (more important than offense in the post-season where-as the opposite is normally true during the regular season).

Do they force a decent amount of turnovers at least? I mean, the Packers SB winning team had a very, very average defense. The only thing that made the defense a little less terrible looking was the fact that they could "bend but not break", as in only giving up 3 more times than 7..and also the fact that they could take away the ball.

If the Steelers d can force turnovers, they might be okay.

According to NFL.com stats their turnover ratio is -2 so they aren't looking good on that front

in other news according to NFL.com stats the cardinals defense have recovered 5 fumbles when they've only forced 4

You kind of sound like all the patriots haters when the pats were 2-2.
