Yeah prices are crashing badly right now. I wonder what they will stabilize at and if they'll implement their own method of gambling

 

Valve would implement their won method of gambling?

 

Prices seem stable right now. Hopefully people won't panic sell their items.

All knives pretty much stable right now (Steam Community Market :: Listings for ★ Bayonet | Doppler (Factory New)).

 

It has had an effect on skin prices. My inventory is down about 7-8% since the announcement. I don't think it will crash too much further off this information. Valve had to take a stance against gambling sites, and they have done so.

If Runescape has shown us anything it's that people will find a way. The big CSGO gambling sites are done as we know them, but there are going to be new ones that pop up. They'll use a different format and likely be pushed much further underground. It won't be the in-your-face community it was before. But there's just so much money involved for the owners of these sites that there will always be someone trying to fill that void.

Same can be said for all types of internet gambling. If people want to pay rake on a game of chance, someone somewhere is going to provide them an avenue to do so. I know a lot of the current USD gambling sites moved offshore to places like the Philippines and continue operating today. Not sure people will go to same extent for CSGO sites, but when there's enough money involved, someone is going to make it happen (and then 10 more people will copy their model).

 

Prices will drop more, theres no market anymore.. id say 10% of CSGO players actually buy skins for play.

Pretty crazy that they're going to start regulating it. I think it drives these companies insane that people are making massive amounts of profit from a small portion of their game.

 

You said how people were selling their skins for 60% off, but when gambling was still around they still have always been selling for 65-70% of market value mate, thats just how buying and selling skins work.

the current crash is due to the hype, like you said.

but tell me this, all they stated is that the trade bots are no longer allowed and don;t want gambling sites using their steam api, what's stopping from these gambling sites just doing like runescape and hiring live chat agents heh?

considering top csgo gambling sites made 50k+/month they wouldn't mind a paying 10 spastics minimum wage.
