"We ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right,”

For a quarter of the media and all the morons... NO he didn't fuckin make this up its in a damn song from the civil rights movement. So many dumb people these days.

Anyways what do you think about what he said, for those who listened to his whole speech/prayer thing?

    AND

If you know or remember the song will you tell me who made it and the name of it? (Haven't heard it in awhile :()

Very nice speech by him even if it wasn't original. MUCH better than Osama's.

I actually laughed when he said it because he sounded ridiculous.

And if I'm remembering correctly the song is Black, Brown, and White by Big Bill Broonzy.

It was an excellent speech, him and Obama both.

The one thing I really dislike about this statement; it's makes it seem as whites are a supremacy in America, and that we have never treated black equally, because withing previous times they have been treated fairly, even more so fairly in some circumstances such as affirmative action. The statement makes America to be more of a segregated place, rather than one united country.

I think Obama is an amazing speaker. The only thing I feared whilst watching the ceremony from my school's library, was that right as his speech was taking place, a man with a high-powered sniper rifle took aim and assassinated him right on the spot. I'm glad it didn't happen though. *Phew*

I liked that part of Rev. Joseph Lowery's speech though.

Song or not, do you really believe that it is appropriate in this day and age? Especially seeing as a black man now holds nearly the highest amount of power in the U.S.
