You absolutly did the right thing.

Funny thing is, is that this happened to me about 3 days ago. I walked right out and got a detention from the teacher. I took it to the principal and made a huge stink about the whole thing and threatened to leave the school until he revoked the detention.

But, on a serious note, my relations with the teacher are not strained or anything, I usually just do my work and now and then I cause a disturbance, but nothing to crazy. I'm just concerned because I go to a private school and they may claim that they can hold me to whatever penalty they please.
