Respectable alcohol discussion

God damn Mexican beer is absolute shit.. Missing my selection back in Canada... >.>

 

I was raised on bourbon and american whiskeys, its very diverse. You got your sweet Tennessee whiskey, your more complex rye's, Kentucky bourbon (yes its different) and then the plethora of strait bourbons..

I haven't got a taste for scotch. Gotten down on some Johnny Walker a few times but don't care for it enough to buy my own, had some pretty good Glen Fiddich as well but those two are the only memorable scotch brands I've had. The others were cheap shit that tasted like poison. What's a good budget brand scotch to start with? I don't wanna drop $60-$100+ on a bottle of something I don't quite have a taste for just yet.

It took me a while to truly appreciate bourbon, I'm willing to give scotch another go.

Corona sucks but modelo especial is good, so is negra modelo. The negra is you guessed it, dark. Almost a Mexican take on a boch.

 

You don't have to buy a whole bottle of something to find you don't like it. It's more expensive per drink but if you go to one of the more classy bars in your area and say you're keen on sampling Scotch and are wanting for recommendations, I'm sure they'd give you some suggestions.

The rather standard, popular scotch is Chivas Regal 12yo, but to be completely honest I'm not fussed on it. As I mentioned earlier, things like Laphroaig and Lagavulin are excellent, so see if any local pubs have them and you'll save yourself having to buy a bottle if you don't like it.

Being from kentucky I ultimately respect bourbon. Scotch-wise you mentioned johnny walker. I've gone with the red label before and was not let down. I've yet to try the rest but look forward to.

No way! Open up a can of TECATE. Best beer in mexico in my opinion.

 

An ice cold beer straight from the cooler is the smoothest thing in the world. I really hate shots of anything that's not vodka. Favorite mixed drink is a White Russian (milk/cream, vodka, and Kahlua) but Jack and coke is a close second.

 

Suggesting tecate is the best beer in mexico is like saying natural light is the best beer in the US. Jesus Christo.

Try modelo, Victoria or pacifico and get back to me. Tecate is a watered down attempt at an american style lager, sure its OK on a hot summer day but it is what it is. A watery american style lager.

The owner of the bar I was at was a big Pats fan and insisted on giving a group of us free shots of Don Julio 70 throughout the night ... It was beyond easy to take it... +1

JD and Coke is my only drink.

Used to smash the cheap wine back in the day, but grew out of that. Not really much of a drinker anymore.

 

I can only drink vodka honestly. I've yet to find anything else I won't gag at drinking.

 

I've recently started drinking and I have come to find that I enjoy beers and some liquors... Bacardi 151 is strong as shit and it's good mixed. I would prefer to drink a summer time beer or even a rum and coke!

 

I have a crap ton of Modelo cans in my fridge, there not bad.

 

Have you ever tried Corona?
