"Reserving" posts, GFX section.

Alright, I told myself I'd never whine or complain but this is actually annoying me now.

Basically, in the GFX section when someone posts a thread requesting something, be it a background, avatar, UI.. etc etc, GFX artists post with "Reserved." or "I'll do one later." and then post again with the GFX. If you reserve a post it means you will edit it later with information/the GFX. It's basically just spamming the thread to reserve a post and then disregard it and post again with the GFX anyway.

• If you're posting "Reserved", you should edit that post with your work if you want to reserve it.
• Just post when you're finished the GFX and PM the user beforehand asking them to wait until you've submitted if that's your problem.

It's not a massive problem, but just as a rule in the GFX sticky it'd be nice. The reason I'm even posting this suggestion is that I had my own request thread, and some of the GFX'ers who posted "Reserved" or "Will be submitting", never posted again or didn't even submit anything at all. I let it go, as I was happy with a submission I received but I still see this happening in the GFX market almost every day. It's spam, and should be counted as such.

 

This. I asked for a UI, and a load of people just wrote "reserved", and never even provided, probably how some of the GFX artists get the majority of their post count. Surely this should count as spam, the same way such as "nice account" or "PM me". It'd probably keep them in line also, as other people get infracted for this stuff in other sections.

 

Agreeing with this. Same with retarded catch phrases that serve the same purpose.

 

It's the same as people selling GP or something, a lot of them say "ok added you on msn" etc.
If you see small posts just saying "reserved" though report them.

 

I agree, I just think if the action was stated on the rules sticky, less people would do it. People are only doing it because it isn't explicitly stated that it's against the rules. The last thing I want to do is report 20 people and get them infracted when a sticky update could sort it out.

I agree with you 100% not only is it spam, but the customer is waiting for you to submit something and half the time the person who posts "reserved" never submits it. I myself edit the reserved post with the request that person wanted.

Support, I think there was already a rule about posting "I'll do it later" would be considered as spam, maybe this should be implemented?

That's essentially the exact same thing. You're reserving a post because you'll possibly do the graphic.

 

I can see it from your perspective but that's never really my intention. The only reason I post that is to let them I know I will be doing it sooner or later, not to just spam and reserve a spot. Not going to argue with anyone in this matter, if you perceive what I have done as spamming I am sorry and will no longer do it.

 

I personally agree with the Reserved, but you should post the work. If it's there for too long report it as spam and we will infract the user. I think that's fair.

 

I agree with this sentence due to the fact if a user reserve's a post he/she should use that post to post the GFX.

 

Agreed, warnings should be dealt if one cannot edit his or her post because it really takes 10-15 seconds.

 

I agree with this. If someone reserves a post and then doesn't use that post they should get infracted, otherwise reserves do serve a purpose.

 

Yep that's what I'm getting across. I have no problem if you reserve a post and later use it for your work, but otherwise it deserves an infraction.

 

It's simple to just delete your post if you decide not to enter. So there is no reason they should stay there.
