Require picture of max main to rent out accounts

I couldn't find anything in the stickies of the account rentals/other services forum about this.

Might be a good idea to require a picture of a max main with proof of ownership (e.g. typing your sythe name into the chatbox). Just a small preventative measure that can be taken, at minor inconvenience to those that are legit (as most already have pictures anyways).

 

There was already a sticky requiring this I'm 100% sure.


As I actually had a thread closed at one point I think for not having a picture.

Support. If you are too lazy to take a picture of your rental account, then you should not be renting your account out at all.

 

i think they should require a photo of the login Username/Email in the login, to match with ones that have been banned with scamming.

 

So then Jagex can go through Sythe and get all our accounts banned?

I suggested something like this before but just requiring a picture of the login could be easily faked and the general consensus was that having a mod manually check the account would be too much of a hassle.

Support for the original suggestion though, thought it was required already.

 

I'd support that a login is required when reporting a user who scammed through a max main rental. That way mods can blacklist that username, which would help cut down on scams.

 

Currently discussing this in staff lounge. Looking to remodel the stickies in the forum to clean it up.

Should it really be "required" ie. scammer won't get banned unless a login is there? I mean we can suggest that whoever got scammed give the username, but if there's proof otherwise the scammer should still be banned

Yeah, the stickies in that section are a bit messy. Perhaps a general "account rentals/other services" sticky combining all of the 1-liners would do.

 

Went ahead and added your suggestion, as well as overhaul the section (sticky wise).
