Require people to post from a home IP before posting a max main rental thread

Agreed people shouldn't be forced to donate, take in accounts their rep and donation status it's your choice to invest in them, I really wish people didn't scam but it's everywhere on sythe and wish it doesnt happen as often as it does! Maybe something will be implemented in the future, home ip is confidentiallity though, but maybe if they had to supply it to staff, sure but not general public

 

This is pretty much already being done with mods banning every member and requesting said members to post from a home IP.

 

Not true, all we do is TWC them now. Though this combats the ruling of Shin who has told numerous moderators to stop hunting down ban evaders or shit's about to go down. In my personal opinion I'm supporting this suggestion because I'm sure it'll stop scams from happening. My opinion however should be no support, as it basically takes away the "free market" thing. Also the WTB/WTS sections aren't moderated because of ban evaders, they are moderated to combat the impersonator websites. I could easily deny this suggestion because I know it will, but I'll leave that up to one of my fellow staff members.

 

Bumping this as it appears the max main renters gave up on their New Year Resolutions and started to go full retard again. I'd really love that section to become moderated.

 

100% support this. As much as we push to educate people, the fact is that the TWC really does not prevent people from getting scammed and if that person can simply show that it was issued due to not posting from a home IP, I can't really see why newcomers would see that as an issue at all. We can't simply tell people to read the stickies or keep pushing for more awareness - in some cases intervention is needed and moderating the section would provide that nicely. There are enough mods to make sure this is done in a timely manner and any genuine service provider should only see this as a slight inconvenience to make their area of business more secure.

 

Agreed, the section should be moderated to help keep the market alive and reduce scamming, too many retards abusing it right now.

 

The trusted renters are biting the dust - I bought another 4 mains to finish with an even 50 and am charging 15m/hour and am losing a shit ton, lost a main not even 10 hours after buying it yesterday.

Pie got chain banned and isn't renting anymore, ariba got banned and has no mains. We are in the shit as trusted renters go, this industry is about to get 10x worse - I cannot sustain a $250 main @ $15/hour bans are so bad.

I move that staff vote on it or approve/deny this @Shin @video @Charlotte if something is not done soon things are going to get much, much worse once my mains are gone - there literally isn't a site/trusted renter left - I either need additional rentals(which would come via limiting posting in the section to home IP only) or I'm getting out and leaving the 25-50+ people who rent every day to these randoms - Cant sustain losing 13 mains in a month. - Nor can Pie, Ariba or any other trusted renter. This has also been sitting since September.

 

I understand where everyone is coming from but I'm going to say no support.

We are a free market, and the fact that we're already giving people TWCs for not posting from their IP should be more than enough to alert people. I do not want to limit the website even more but not allowing them to post in certain sections unless they've posted from their home IP.

 

The suggestion here is mainly to make the Rental section moderated just like the 07 and RS3 sections are. We might be a free market, though giving users a free pass to go on a scamming spree is taking the free market a bit too literally.

 

I'm all for moderating it, but if moderating it means people with a TWC can't post in it, then no. That's not something I can support.

Some people can't post from their home IP because they don't have one, I know a lot of people who simply can't afford internet (especially in Australia) and tether from their phone.

 

No moderating means this, just like the threads in 07WTB/WTS and RS3WTB/WTS: This section is under temporary moderated status!

 

If it's for a moderation then this has my support
