I'm suggesting that there should be any requierement on starting a MM service, whether it's free or not.
Lately me and Buyingrsgold argued about this, and there are at the moment so many untrusted people starting their MM service.
I highly doubt it that people will use them, and it brings down the threads of legit people.

This is an example of such a thread:
http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1216597

Honestly, who ever want's to use him as his MM?
This is nothing against him, i'm not saying hes not legit, but the chance that someone wants to use him as their MM is pretty much nothing.
This is just slightly annoying for other, trusted people who run a MM service.
A requierement of approximately 30 Vouches before starting you're MM service should in my opinion be good.

Thoughts?

I don't think there are any reasonable restrictions one can place on offering any service; that would only encourage fake vouching, etc.

Also, I don't even have 30 non-MM'ing vouches; I started my MM service with a couple pin vouches at most. It was hard, but to claim that such threads are spam and are simply 'pushing out trusted threads' is inaccurate; it can be done.

It can be done, no argueing about that, but what's the chance of someone using such a member?
It's a waste of time, and it's safer for the community not to have such a thread, as people considder using them, and probably will be scammed.

I agree, its impossible to determine if they are legit or not off the amount of posts or vouches they have. Everyone has to start somewhere and its not fair to have that kind of judgement, trusted MM's and OMM's don't need to worry about others threads bringing their's down. If they are trusted, people will use them and there won't be any problems.

No support, you should give new people a chance. If they never get a customers, there's no problem, right? Plus, if you're trusted, you'll be recognised easily enough.

I have no problem with giving new users a chance, but the point is who is ever going to use them?
The thread is pointless, and spam in my opinion.
Also it's safer for the community, this will reduce the chance of people getting scammed a little bit.

Support. I was thinking about opening my MM service, but I doubt that someone would use me. Well except newcomers for pin sales :) How can a person with few vouches and few posts try to become MM? thats simply stupid. And 30vouches seems ok.

I don't mind people starting off their MMing service at some point, but threads like what Bl0w Ranq presented, it's a pretty good chance nobody is gonna use him in the first place, so I believe his thread is pretty much spam, and that a new rule should be implemented.

If people break this rule, then it should cost them an infraction, if this suggestion were to get accepted.

No it is not spam, why shouldn't they be allowed to post? Maybe someone will use them you don't know that. There is no reason why it shouldn't be allowed.

I definitely agree with Sin on this one. I started out Selling and MMing pins. Of my first ~25 vouches, I can easily say 5-10 were questing/skilling, 5 were pin sales, and the rest were MM's. I started MMing early on in my sythe career. I don't see any reason to try to discourage others from trying to do the same.

No it is not spam, why shouldn't they be allowed to post? Maybe someone will use them you don't know that. There is no reason why it shouldn't be allowed.

They didn't even exploit Sythe, or did a good trade themselves
How are these people ever going to MM?

that would only encourage fake vouching, etc.
And replying on this, it's the traders responsibility to check for fake vouches.
And if that person is willing to make fake vouches, it's quiet obvisiously they want to scam.

I started MM'ing with like lower than 10 vouches... Like Sin said, this will encourage fake vouching. This will increase moderator workload, I bet you some users will not read the stickies and post there anyway even if they don't have 30 vouches. Even though some are scammers, some are legitimate. In the end, they don't cause any harm, most people use the trusted free MM's. Also, most people will know not to use an MM with little to no vouches. No support.

Before the thread's closed, I feel you need to know the amount of vouches you have doesn't make you legit, rather their worth. Even if a requirement were implemented, it's really easy for anyone with an intention to scam to go out and get a bunch of cheap vouches before starting their service. Looking at the vouches in your sig, half of them are for trades of 10m or less... Now imagine if someone had only 15 vouches, all worth 250M+, and they'd be unable to start a MM'ing service because they don't meet the vouch requirement?

No, because then why not make MM a rank of its own?

If you don't trust the guy then just don't use him.

No support, it's easy to find a trusted Middleman, I myself have a MM Thread, do i get as much business as a OMM? no. do i get daily business no. Am i legit, and trusted, and would like to have my reputation to spread. Yes. I don't have 30 vouches yet, but i would deem myself more trusted then 40% of people here on sythe.

I don't think any barriers should be placed.

I for one had around 10-20 vouches when I started my MMing service. I now have 69 vouches just from MMing. People will make a judgement on whether or not they deem you fit to oversee their trade. If they don't they will choose another MM. Giving people the best opportunity possible to flourish will create more trustworthy members. Barring people from such opportunities reduces the sample size for which these trustworthy members could arise from.

yer bro i started yer thats a great idea but then i relised the same thing that every else is saying and its a simple as this dont trust em dont use em

but i see where your coming from people with 1 vouch opening up a thread and pushing trusted MM on to the 2nd page and stuff
