I think there should be an option implemented, that when you have made a thread, instead of Pming a sectional or global to get a name change of the title, or even delete it. There could perhaps be a button where you can click, similar functions of the spam report button, and you state what you want to do with the thread.

Instead of waiting for someone to change it, which could be a few days, it could get done by whoever mod is online at the time, which could save time as you might not be sure which mod is busy or not.

This could be used with avatar changes and user title changes for donators as well perhaps.

It would also save a lot of Pm space for mods getting constant messages of people, and make things cleaner for their inbox.

To prevent someone over using it to flood the forum there could be like an hour gap between each request, all answered requests could go to an archived "request forum." Which could be located in archives and in a sub forums there.

Sectionals can only change the titles of their section(s).

Also, you could just report your post for a thread title change, but PMing a mod is always the best option.

    Not really.

You can only tell if a mods online, even some might use offline mode as well. Some might be busy, and informing one person to change a title could take a while, if all the globals/sectionals on that section are informed it will be a lot quicker for the person.

This has been suggested before. I still think just PMing a staff member that is online is the best bet.

    ^^^

Agreed, if some one is going to be fucked GOING to the section anyways for that reason, going to thread, and following links and changing.

Then they could just as easily click a link in a pm and do it or MSN.

I'd just suggest PMing a moderator or just reporting it for a lock/title change. It'll get done in due time.

Yes, I know you can PM someone, but I can't understand how that would be better?
Asking one person when he can be bothered to do it, or the whole of the communities globals/sectionals at the time online?
    Obviously it would be quicker.

People respond faster to PMs than a system that is like the spam report system.

Closing your own thread is never going to be implemented because of the security risk. I'm not sure about thread titles, but those don't usually need to be changed that often and it can't hurt to PM one of the many great mods we have.
