Yea guess I misinterpreted

Nvm then.

Still I think if you don't come forward first and get banned for something you should have to wait atleast 1 month before getting to pardon for it.

New rule, how sorry could you possibly be if you didn't bother to come forward and had to be caught in order to apologize? There should be some wait time for the person to realize what they did was wrong before they are given a second chance in my opinion.

^^^ Agreed classics

Agree with both ^_^

You don't learn from your mistakes if the punishment is so null.

Lets send muderer's to jail for 1month to teach them the rules. just doesnt work.

Murder =/= Asking for assistance in hacking.
Don't be so naive.

If someone asks for hacking assistance, it should be a 1 week ban, yes, but also keep in mind, they are just asking. That does not mean they actually succeeded. I could ask the whole site to send me a penny via Paypal, doesn't mean anyone would do it. IMO; it should be based on whether or not there was success in the attempt.

You didn't get my point from that statement at all, You don't learn shit if the punishment is shit.

If I were to murder someone and was given a 1month imprisonment as punishment, I would most likely laugh at it and possibly consider it again.
I doubt I would ever kill anyone though lol.

I disagree with only a 1-week ban for asking help to hack someone..
however I do agree on ALL ruless apply for EVERYONE *points at r2pleasent*

lmao

mods are more lenient towards each other usually because there more 'valued' members of the community

& Requesting hacking assistance depending on the situation should result in a 2 week ban at the least, 6months is abit heavy

Heidy
Each case will be evaluated by itself, there is no set number of days that the ban will last. Every case will be treated differently but equally in the manner that the person has requested hacking assistance.

Note to Global, please add this to rules so it is not brought up on a frequent basis.

2nd that one, I've been seeing a lot of your posts Travis. Nice thinking, man :)

It was an analogy, obviously they aren't equal. Don't be so ignorant.

Secondly, the member's intent is all that is needed, it doesn't matter if it was successful or not. That's like saying if a member tries to scam, but fails, they shouldn't be permanently banned. Your logic fails immensely in the realm of reality.

your wrong there mate, if someone makes plans to murder, they still get charged with " Intent to murder/ingrevious bodily harm".

if someone asks for help to hack someone, but no 1 responds. it does not mean they wouldnt have gone through with it, by asking for help with it in the 1st place means they had full intention of hacking regardless.

eg, i have plans to assasinate some1, my house gets raided before i get a chance to follow out my plans, the police find the plans, i get charged with " Intent to murder" which is pretty much the same jail time as murder. even tho i didnt have the chance to follow out the plans, i still get the same punishment as if i did follow through with it.

it should be the same rules, if you have intended to hack someone, you should be punished the same as if you did hack someone.

I don't see what this can really do. Not only do we ban them as a punishment for there crimes, we ban them because we believe they are a threat to the website and its members. If they have considered hacking and are trying to do it, they could be a threat.

Cases such as Bubba Fuzz's and R2Pleasants are trickier than cases such as ban evasion and scamming. We need to investigate each one thoroughly and there are so many more things that can alter the outcome.

i understand they are alot harder then ban evasion and scamming, but what is trying to be said is, if a new sythe member with 50 posts, no donation rank/any rank was caught asking for help to hack some1 they would be banned instantly. yet certain people because of their sythe " Status " are let off with a slap on the wrist. every1 should be treated and punished as equals, no one should be given special benifets just because of their ranks/sythe status. its unfair and needs to be sorted out.

Yes, we could all be robots and ban everyone who breaks the rules...but I believe in second chances, change and members being full of mercy. And why you make a strong point about newer members being banned and rarely given a second chance, we can't judge there character and what they're like if we haven't seen much of them.

Then answer this; A user with 50 posts does the same exact thing as Bubba? Is he given this same second chance that Bubba is?

I'd like to point out that the whole philosophy (in Richard's (Owner of Sythe.org) mind) is to grant a second chance for site mainstays. Essentially this means that people who are "prominent supporter" of the community have the chance to get a second chance.

i also understand that its hard to judge someones personality if they arent around long enough, but what about Gods ownag3, aka preston. he is the most trustworthy legit trader i have met in my eyes. i have done several trades with him after him being banned and he has never ripped me off.
he is only currently banned for ban evasion, has never scammed or tried to hack someone, yet he isnt given a second chance, but someone who was willing to hack someone, and cause some damage has been given a second chance. how is that fair?

person A gets banned, for something that does not harm other sythe users, and is not given a second chance.

person B gets banned, for something that could cause alot of damage to another sythe user, and has been given a second chance pretty much straight away.

How is that justified? explain please.

First, who are your examples? The ones you are using for Person A and Person B?

Secondly, you're making it out like there has to be a system for pardons. There isn't. Basically, you need to either be really really really lucky, a really really invaluable member to the site who does everything they can to contribute, or both. If the staff didn't feel that a member deserves that then they don't get it.

The staff can't be sure whether the risk we are taking will pay off. It's probably true, some members will be pardoned when others would have made more of there second chance, but we can't see the future.

Also, members are very lucky to even be allowed to appeal for a second chance in the first place. I can imagine most of the staff who decided to implement this system would be very frustrated seeing members debate over who should or shouldn't be pardoned when they should feel honoured to be given the ability to do so in the first place.

im not ganna mention names on this thread, i hope you respect that decision.

its just annoying that someone can get away with something that could have caused havock on someone yet a person who has been banned for something that can not harm another person has been denied a high pardon.

yes, a high pardon should be treated with great respect and the person recieving it should bust their ass to prove they deserved it. i understand they are not given out lightly, but they are also not given out fairly.

i like that a person is able to be given a 2nd chance, everyone has the ability to change, EVERYONE, not just certain people with a name.
