As I stated in my post I didn't even believe the guy claiming it was hacked was the original owner, and the fact his recovery request was denied led me to believe that my belief was true. People can fake recovery requests all of the time, it's a popular scamming technique among many notorious scammers (Ryan, etc). As you know they will just change the name from a VPN and then submit a ticket saying that the account was hacked and the name illegitimately moved and Jagex most often will return it as they in their eyes it's "clear it wasn't the original owner who moved it". Now that's bullshit of course but my point is, if this guy was legitimately hacked and had his name stolen I'm very confident Jagex would have returned his name. But they didn't so it is/was safe for me to assume he was lying and based on the information the owner of Dragonite at the time of my purchase provided me I genuinely believed he was in legitimate possession of the name and it was safe to buy. Hence why I did buy it. I did still wait ~2 weeks before posting publicly just in case any issues arose but once those 2 weeks passed I figured I was in the clear to list it for sale. On Sythe I record any transactions I make with OBS for the safety of both myself and my customer, but since this sale wasn't Sythe related I did not record it as if any issues arose having proof of purchase wouldn't help me as I couldn't report the guy or anything of the sort.
