Request @ Kinaesthic/ anyone good with lighting

Personally I just wanted to know how you did your text lighting, with the bright reflective text and crisp edges. I could never get that right and didn't really have a clue how it was done. Doesn't matter anymore I suppose, I've given up.

Softbrushings isn't what he is referring to. He is talking about, I believe, the materials you use and the lighting setup inside of C4D.

 

Yeah, let's get a tutorial from Kinae so that everyone can start to mindlessly crank out the same old lighting and effects that we've seen a million times before on this forum. Why don't we try to explore our OWN styles and techniques? Kinae managed to learn on his own, and he's more of a pioneer in this forum. People look up to him, and if he took a shit and posted a picture of it, you all would call it amazing because you assume he's a design genius. Stop acting like sheep, and pave your own way. Have your own mind and ingenuity. MAKE YOUR OWN GRAPHICS AND MAYBE PEOPLE WILL LIKE THOSE. /rant

 

Originality is dead on this forum, you must not have been in the market for too long because what sells is Kina sigs and nothing else.

 

Basically What Nero says. I'm here to make money, and while every GFX designer does their sigs differently, They all follow a certain template, because it is one that works, which, in the end, is what counts

 

You aren't simply following a template, you're followng a style, and that style just so happens to be Kinae's - whether you want to outright admit it or not. Go ahead and use Kinae's techniques, but what sells in the business world is you being different from your competitors... and I'm sorry, but you're no better than he is, so try to be DIFFERENT from him.

Yeah, Nero, I was here last summer, but it's gotten much worse since then... It's sad because art/design/graphics are about originality, not imitating someone else's work. :/

It's a market, that is what it is about - making money. If something else made money we would do different things, but the people who are buying this stuff also want money and Kina's sigs are striking and eyecatching at first which channels in business. Market dynamics are completely different for each market. In the end a market is about making money and not being different for different's sake. I've made several posts about it, but I have conceded to that fact. I barely deal in the market any more and I don't actively take orders, only when someone comes to me and asks or if I find something that interests me.

 

And so the neverending saga continues.. comeon guys.
Do what you like to do, make what you want to make. In the end, everyone is creative in their own ways, wether others like that or not

 

Yes, everyone has creativity , but some choose not to use it. That's what frustrates me.

I wouldn't post a tutorial if I were you... because like I said earlier, you had to learn on your own (I think), and they can learn on their own. I can almost promise you that they'll just take the same idea and use it exactly as you do, and where's the fun in that? I understand helping them out, but it goes too far when it's plain & simple copying someone's methods just so they can make their graphics better to SELL.
