Request a High Pardon section.

Rename 'Request a High Pardon' to 'Request a Pardon or Restitution' since the restitution system is now a real part of the site it should have it's place in the dispute forum.

As for the high pardon to just pardon bit, that's because when the pardon system was implemented, it was only up to admins to pardon and deny pardons. Hence the term 'High Pardon', now it's any staff member, so it should be re-named.

As to why restitutions should go under that section, that section doesn't really receive as many threads as the Dispute a Ban/TWC section, so I think it would fit better there, maybe even a sticky regarding restitutions should be put there.

That's about it, not really a huge change, just something I've noticed.

 

The thing is, Restitution was intended for a specific group of users that were banned in the past out of abuse of power. It was meant as a temporary process until that finite number of users was unbanned - in my opinion, the need for the restitution process is now over.

 

Alrighty then, I feel you should leave it open for some users who hadn't read the announcement but that's up to you.

You should still do the High Pardon to Pardon thing, though.

 

I can post a sticky that references the news thread about Restitution. And sure, the name change is minor; why not.

 

The sticky works, do that. There's gotta be a few unfairly banned users who haven't seen Reinstitution thing yet.

I don't see the difference between 'high pardon' and 'pardon' though. High Pardon sounds better personally.

 

The high in high pardon is a remnant of the dictatorial system that was in place before the collective approach was taken. Although it doesn't mean that much, it was placed there because only admins could grant them.
