Request: A good auto-restarter

I was wondering if anybody had a decent auto-restarter that actually works, becuase I've downloaded a few versions of Voule and none of them work.

shutdown /r /t 9999

Save that as a batch file, and move it to start up. Sure, it'll leave the console window running... but hey, it works.

I think he means for a private server, if so I have one. It works for me, also you'll need Microsoft framework 2.0+.

W00T! In love with this site right now, and sorry for the misunderstanding, I did mean a restarter for my private server. I'll try yours MCR, thanks a lot! =)

Edit-Awwww shucks! The auto restarter didnt work, it just does what it always does. It tries to start a new server window (looks like DoS prompt) and say "unable to start listener on port 43594-Port already in use?". Does anybody know what the problem is?

Once a port is no longer in use by a program, you may still need to wait a few minutes before it's completely freed up before you can use it again.

Either what CP said, or you've already tried running the server. If so close out all the dos windows, and double click on the "voule auto restarter program", and click start.

I noticed in the batch file that "tskill" is used to kill the process.

Why don't you try replacing that line with "taskkill /im java.exe" ? Not all versions of windows come with tskill.

Ah yes...Well I really don't have a clue what "tskill" is, besides the fact I'm pretty sure it's a DoS command. It also says "tskill" is not recognized as an internal or external command or operable batch file. Is there something more I need to download? I'm running DoS 6.0.6001.

Change tskill to taskkill, and /a to /im, because tskill is not available everywhere.

If that does not work, you may want to look into pskill in pstools:

Edit- Ughhh...Fraid not xD ah well...I'll try to write a program myself to restart it, shouldn't be too too challenging, but if worse comes to worse, I'll check out that Pskill.

Edit#2- Wootdiddly I figured it out. My DoS is being a douche and recognizes one command; "exit". So I've been googling it for some time and firgured this out. If you type in the file location i.e c:\windows\system32\tskill into the command prompt or batch file, then it will run. Thanks a lot for your time though PC.

P.S. Pskill didn't work either =(.
