    Explanation of the trade: So I bought an account off ExoGold a couple months ago and it got locked about a month ago and he hasn't been able to unlock the acc, keeps saying that he needs to be home blah blah blah and he's stopped replying to my messages on both skype and PM. Anyways i've gotten sick of his BS and decided to take action. He should be able to unlock the account no matter where he is as he stated he is the original owner. I don't think he is a scammer but I've waited long enough and this is the only way to get him to respond

    I unlocked the account for you once before. I feel like you're doing something very sketchy with it, since it got locked again shortly after that. And since I unlocked it with the same details I now tried to use to unlock it, and it didn't accept those, it's under some sort of additional security. I am currently living in another country. The account was made in my previous country of residence. My best guess is that it's under manual review for recovery attempts, due to Mr. "ibot4funn" getting it locked repeatedly.


    I did sell you the account. But I didn't promise to be your personal caretaker.

    As I have stated, I will attempt (yet again) to unlock it in the country where it was created, as I will be visiting that country in the coming month. (You seemed to have not read this message, since immediately the following day you prompted me yet again about the recovery.

    Now, Panda, am I required to unlock the account for him multiple times, yet again and again after selling to him? Is this stated somewhere? I have already done it once, and with my busy schedule I seriously do not have time to take care of it. It is his account, and I shouldn't be expected to babysit him. The times I recovered it for him were out of courtesy. And with me recovering the account for him multiple times I take the risk of assisting him with him selling and then recovering the account. I don't want to risk being an associate in something like this.

    First of all, it was never locked before, I only asked you to recover the account because I had forgot the password to the email that I had put on it and you did. Then weeks after it was locked for the first time.

    I am pretty sure you're required to unlock the account since you stated you're the original owner. I never sold the account, I even told you that I have the current password of the account, how would I have that if I sold it.

    Lastly it takes less than 5 minutes to fill out the damn form.

    I have sent multiple recovery attempts for it. They got denied, most likely because I live in another country nowadays from where I created the account. I told you we can resolve this since I am headed there next month anyway.

    And nah, it takes quite a lot longer than 5 minutes, having to dig for info from my emails and trying to remember things. I run 2/3 businesses which come before recovering your account for you, over and over again.

    Either you wait, or you buy me a flight ticket to my home country. I can't do more for you right now.

    Edit: Was denied after a while.

    I was reading the rules and found nothing mentioned about having to recover the account after it being sold. What is Sythe's stance about this?

    Could I get an answer if I am required to recover the account for him?

    I do not have the information such as payment details and I have forgotten most of the details after selling it to him months ago. I moved on from the RS market, and there are no rules stating that I should provide care for my previously sold accounts indefinitely which would intervene with my real life.

    It's not my fault that you're not able to recover an account you claimed was yours, you never mentioned you would have trouble recovering the account in the event that it was locked or stolen. I'm pretty sure that you're required to recover the account.

    Unless you and the buyer explicitly agreed to other terms you are required to recover the account whenever he loses access to it. I do disagree with your statement that recovering an account disrupts your life as it literally takes <2 minutes to send in a recovery request.

    As per the current rules if you're unable to recover the account for him you're going to have to refund him his money > it's up to ibot4funn whether or not he's willing to wait until you're back in your home country or if he wants a refund, feel free to let me know within 24 hours from now

    + 2 minutes?

    So far I've taken close to two hours of my day to do the following:

    Install multiple VPN programs to my personal computer with 100k USD stored with accounts that have saved passwords on this PC + confidental information from multiple companies I run.
    Try around 10 proxies, from 10 different sites.
    Reply to Sythe, reply to Skype.
    Go through my email trying to remember what the account was called 4 years ago when I got it P2P.
    Send messages to my partners that I won't be able to start working until later.
    Start waiting for an email from Jagex, so I can re-try it when it gets denied.



    Due to it being his actions (forgetting his password and making me recover it earlier) that has gotten it locked with manual appeals, I don't know how I can be held accountable indefinently for HIS actions..

    So, he wants to refund me $52 with today's prices rather than what the prices were when I bought the account (~1.1/m). This isn't even taking into account the time I put into the acc + gold I have on the account. I'm not sure if we can value the time or gold since the account is locked but if i'm not mistaken i'm pretty sure he would have to at least refund me the amount I paid for the account, 79.8 x 1.1= ~88USD

    Gold hasn't been 1.1 for a very long time, lol.

    And as I have the gold you literally gave me on a mule, it is literally a direct 1:1 refund.

    In the same way you can't account for currency value changes (usd was a different price back then, so was EUR) I don't think you can account for inflation in GP in this case. Especially since you got it locked due to forgetting your password and asking me to recover it for you, again. With it being your fault. I am not even getting a refund and getting the account back, I literally lost the account and now the money because of you.

    Also since gold is extremely subjective, and as I didn't sell the gold thus didn't profit from the trade, the trade was 80m for an account. I am willing to refund you your 80m.

    For possible disputes in the future, if a refund is required the owner of the account should refund whatever amount was agreed to at that time, eg. if he bought it for 50m he would receive a refund of 50m or if he bought it for 50$ he would receive a refund of 50$ etc.

    If an account is banned for botting claiming it was hijacked usually is the only way to get the ban quashed although i must agree it looks a bit odd he contradicted himself in his claims.

    Tldr; let me know when you returned the account to OP so i can remove your DNT. If another lock were to happen we can continue this report and see to what extent you could be held responsible considering the amount of locks etc
