Report a spammer section.

While I think this section is a GOOD idea when used EFFECTIVELY, right now it's just terrible. In a matter of days it grows to be 5 pages, then 8, etc before the mods can even do anything because the reports come in too fast.

I think that there should be some amount of post count required to allow you to report spammers there to reduce the number of redundant/useless reports thus wasting less of the staff members' time.

Another plan of action would be to either specify some things that are not to be reported in that section as they waste more time than they are worth ex: one line posts, double posts (as long as these weren't obvious attempts at increasing one's post count).

Lastly, warnings followed by infractions could also be handed out for inappropriate use of the section. You might think this is a little harsh of course but really if someone continued to accumulate these they obviously have poor judgment and it's better off that they no longer make use of the section anyway.

Just a few ideas on my part as I see things seem to get out of hand in there so quickly. If you don't like them that's fine, it's just one man's thoughts.

 

I think that infractions should be handed out each time someone makes a dumb report, as long as there is stickies that warn against them. Also I think that mods can be a little more active there. There is more than enough of them, and at times, it seems as if they ignore them.

But, alot of the mods have other responsibilities and I understand that. I just wish that either they would promote some new mods, or find time to sort out that forum.

 

The spammer section just isn't first priority. To be honest, it's really not important if it gets done or not.

There are already stickies on rules that should be reported, and rules that shouldn't.

 

I'm pretty sure every single real problem is addressed by the mods on their own. They read the forums quite regularly so any real problem is addressed.

If you are bitching about some asshole is spamming "your" thread then you should just suck it up and stop being such a control freak.

 

Absolutely Wrong. They can't catch all the issues on their own and they know this, hence why the Report a Spammer section is in place.

If you knew how to read you would have been able to determine that one, I am not bitching, and two, what I've written about has nothing to do with my own threads, it's only in regards to the Report a Spammer section. I have just kindly outlined my own opinion on it as well as a few suggestions that I thought might help out.

I don't see how you were able to misinterpret my post so terribly that you can call it bitching and refer to me as a control freak, you might need to improve on your reading comprehension.

90% of the things reported are already done by the time they're looked at in the RaSp section anyway, so it's not first priority.

 

I did like 5 over the last two weeks, I shouldn't receive any credit .
