[2nd opinion]Banned EXTREMELY Unfair

Please assign this to any other MOD but Apith, he seems to keep closing my threads.

What actually happened was I purchased an account off someone and then did a recovery test to see if the information he provided me was correct. It failed and I notified him over three times that I was not comfortable with purchasing the account and I want to give it back to him. He kept refusing and told me he doesn’t want it back, but he wants me to pay him. I messaged him multiple times offering the account back and he repeatedly told me to send him money. I did not send him money because I told him I wasn’t paying for an account with false information. Based on this Apith saw that I PM’d someone who was buying a range tank and assumed I tried to sell the account. That is incorrect I was selling my other range tank which I could provide proof on that. This is not bannable under ANY circumstances. I told this to Apith last night and he said I would be unbanned with a TWC.

His explanation of the TWC is based on accusations of people posting that I scammed them. No proof, just accusations. This is ridiculous, moderators are supposed to act based on facts not accusations and assumptions. Apith is a terrible mod who acts based upon assumptions. Anyways, I go on this morning to see that he posted on my appeal saying that Im remaining banned because I recovered an account of which I had no idea what he was talking about.

I message Apith on skype to ask him what account I recovered and he tells me the Sythe username of the person I supposedly recovered an account from. I told him that I did not recover the account, the user is just bitter I sold it to him for a high price. I asked Apith if the user showed proof that I recovered the account and he said that there is no proof of this but Apith believes him because I sold him an account.

So what you are saying is that people can now accuse the seller of recovering the account and they end up ban without any proof?

Pretty sure Sythe rules state proof must be displayed. So not sure why I am being banned based on assumptions.




I don’t understand how mods can make a decision based on assumptions and accusations and I think it is VERY unfair of this.

Above user carries a point, that being said I don't trust him and based on deleted posts on his threads and along with this report I see no reason why he doesn't deserve a TWC. I'll let another mod weigh in before making a decision though.

May not be enough proof for a ban, but enough for a TWC in my books.

Account recoveries don't work like that. Even with all the correct information you wouldn't be able to recover it because you aren't the original owner, or have owned the account for a substantial amount of time.

It must be noted that it is impossible to prove that an account has been recovered, and is no longer in "x" persons possession. Usually we take the word of the person reporting because it logically makes sense to. If I bought an account and I still have possession of it, why would I make a report claiming it was recovered? For extortion? Well that wouldn't work out well since the person who sold me the account (original owner) would actually recover the account. It's a lose/lose situation. However, there needs to be proof that the person bought the account so this can be considered.

Is there a report for the second claim?

I'm not fond of the whole "you give me all the information for your account, i'll test if the account gets recovered, and if it fails i'll give you the account back and still hold sensitive information tied to it"

This sort of practice should be abolished since it doesn't work.

On his vouch thread there is proof of skillpadden buying an account from him. I wouldn't doubt that Enemy recovered the account he sold to skillpadden because he saw he was banned. Poor trading habits and multiple accusations of reasonable substance should be worthy of a TWC, IF there is no report of the second claim. Should speak to Apith about this before unbanning him.

Its not fair that you say you don't trust me. You don't know me nor have we done any trades. You are saying I am not trustable based on your opinions but you have no facts that prove I am untrustworthy.

You say based on the report? Through out the whole report I am consistently telling him I will give him the account back, how is that being untrustworthy?

Then you say I deserve TWC because of accusations? So you're saying if I accuse people of recovering an account or scamming, that this is enough for a TWC? I don't think it works like that and frankly you're being unfair to me.

If you look at my vouches, I have successfully bought accounts. I have done a recovery test on accounts that weren't mine and they have succeeded. I don't know if this is a new thing and that Runescape got tighter on reports but anyways I did not know that.

To your second point, there is no report or anything. I don't even know how Apith got in contact with this person. He didn't show me screenshots or anything. He simply said "skillpadden" said that I recovered an account and he believed him. Yes he did not post on my thread saying I recovered the account and I can think of multiple reasons why he did this: I sold the account for a price he didn't like, I didn't go with his terms in choice of MM, and I wasn't responsive after the sale. He could have been bitter and didn't like me or god knows what but I think if I really did recover the account he would make a report.

You say you wouldn't doubt that I recovered it based on his accusation. I don't think you're giving me any credit here and you have no proof that shows I did it. I think I should remain innocent until proven guilty but all you moderators are doing are believing accusations. This isn't fair.
