Name Sales Spam

If anyone has been roaming the Runescape Name Sales forum section, you'll see that spams of certain people posting several threads for name sales... with one name each. It takes up almost the whole page, and is very unpractical.



It's ridiculous how one person can make 5 (He could make more) threads for only ONE name each, and then bump each thread every 24 hours. This is obvious it is an attempt at post count whoring, and should not be allowed on sythe. The much more effective way at going about multiple name sales in the Runescape Name Sales forum should be making a Thread such as "(Name heres) rare name shop! [3 letter/ EPIC names]" or something of the sort, not a new thread for each name. If someone only has one name, then "Selling (this name)" is a decent thread, but 5 names should all go in one thread. I'd like to see others opinions.

 

Support, I see a lot of these multiple threads by one user just digging past couple pages of 'Name Sales'.

 

hmm very good suggestion i fully agree, they shud only have to make 1 thread and post all there names in that

 

Superman1234 took action on this against NAG finial, he had like 10 different name sales just floating arround, and ofc he was bumping them all every 10 hours, hope this happens to Syphez.

 

It's not enought to just close the thread, then have them reopen them. It would be so much simpler to just make a rule out of it, and stop it completely.

 

They could just create a single thread for it.

 

Exactly my point. A single thread is all thats needed, not 5.

 

Full support. People selling more than one name can put all their names in one thread. Syphez is one of the worst.

I support, it keeps things simple. Too much spam having 10+ threads for all your names, just having one thread selling all yours names isn't a problem, and whoever makes these threads get extra p/c a day bumping them.

 

Agreed. If they have multiple names then they can call it a "Name shop" and list all of their names there.

 

If it's days/weeks apart then it's cool.

Guess they could use an ambiguous title though so they could edit the initial post over and over. :love:

I've currently got 3 threads on the go in Name Sales, and it's all because they were concieved at different times, and contain different names. The inability to change topic titles makes it harder.
I suppose I could just create a new thread, with the other two merged, but I can see members going "Oi, stop creating duplicate threads!"

 

support my shop gets squashed by all the kids with 7 threads for each of there names, also i think we should have a requirement to have 'rare' in your title

 

Fully support, this will obviously keep things organized. Even if the names are different, the initial title should just be: Blah's Name Shop, leaving room for all the names they could possibly have for sale.

 

Support, this is very annoying. Big threads with more as 1 name are way better.

Supporting this. The rule already exists in the Steam Account Sales section. Back when I was a moderator this happened a lot in that section, hence why the rules was added.
