Minor Username Changes Now Available

Previously, only staff members with unprofessional or impractical usernames were given a username change. We have now decided to allow minor username changes for regular users. Depending on the response we get to minor username changes and the outcome of current staff discussion regarding drastic name change requirements: full/drastic username changes may or may not be available in future.

Those eligible for a minor name change request are those who:

• Have donated a minimum of 5$
• Have a join date which dates to at least a year prior to their name change request
• Have 2FA enabled at the time of their request and pass an IP check (To enable 2FA visit http://www.sythe.org/twofactor.php and for a guide see: here.)
• Have not previously changed their name via the minor name change system

Minor username change requests we currently honour:

1. Removal of numbers in a name where the alternative is available (Example: Name1224 to Name)
2. Replacement of a number in a name (Example: N4m3 to Name)
3. Removal of characters such as underscores or hyphens where the alternative is available (Example: User_Name to User Name or UserName)
4. Capitalisaton or de-capitalisation of name (Example: name to Name or Name to name)
5. Removal of special characters in rare cases where the user profile glitches
6. Minor corrections of spelling

Damn, was hoping for more drastic changes. Ohwell, good addition though, deffinetly support with this one.

I'm more looking for a drastic name change, but I'm pretty sure it won't be seen in a year :/

 

The final decision on drastic name changes should be made this year. We just need to iron out the requirements so as to not cause pandemonium
