Regarding the picture proof rule

So in the section where people sell rares/items for trade price + cash theres a rule that says that all selling threads must have a picture of the items.

Why is this rule in place when its so easy to fake a screen shot, Why dont buyers have to post pictures that they have sufficient funds to buy items? why dont gold sellers have to post pictures they have the gp?

It's harder to fake pictures then you think. Most staff can easily spot fakes which result in the user being banned.

Why don't we require buyers to post proof? Because they're not actively advertising in a thread, usually. It's easier for a seller to scam because he has multiple people contacting him. With regard to GP sellers, I'm not sure.

 

GP sellers are constantly losing and making money though; which would require them taking pictures constantly.

 

I go to ANY other trading site.

I rip the pictures.

I sell it here.


even if you can catch people, it's still redundant to have to post black marks and logins if you do.

I agree that it's pointless and arbitrary. But, if someone actually has the item, it's not a real inconvenience for them to screenshot it. If the sale is truly suspicious, mods will usually ask to see the item in-game - and that can't be faked.

 

hahanerd made a good point there I was actually asking my self the same question before I read his post.

 

You can have the Item it doesn't mean you will give it.

 

This, you can easily spot a fake item, + You can ask to see ingame as in meet ingame.

 

a picture is better than just typing out that u got the item,so...i think this rule is kinda good but well,to make sure safe trade use MM or if hes willing to go 1st
