I wanted to see how people feel about having to go to a third party website just to check the seller's gold prices. I personally would like to see this practice removed.

    Edit: Gold, accounts, services, etc,

The seller should have to have their prices posted in the thread - they often link you to the site just to get more traffic

Support. This always pisses me off, with the discount coupons for everything posted and all the shit being over generalized to not answer any specific questions without going to the website.

It is in all simplicity advertising their website. I'm guessing the main reason they don't post the price in the thread is because they don't want to constantly change the price on their website and the thread which shows me they mainly use Sythe for free advertising and not much more.

I'd be okay with a sticky in the gold-related forums.

Accounts would be a mess, and I think those should stay in the price check forum. That said, I'm not against having a dedicated "account price checks" forum, but I'm not sure it would be that useful. Services, like accounts, are also subjective. The value of someone being trusted is hard to quantify, and the speed, safety, communication, and prices of skilling orders vary tremendously, even more so if we're talking about botted work vs. hand-trained work. I used to charge about 10m rs3/hr for skilling, but there were people charging three times less for any number of reasons. I don't see how a price check forum is useful for something like that when there are so many variables to consider. Gold, on the other hand, is simpler, and I feel like it can be price-checked more effectively.

I think he means gold sellers stating their specific price on their own thread.

Many sites have different prices and deals depending on the market and payment method, if they have 5 threads to change every time the prices fluctuate a few cents it's a bit of hassle. I dont see why they should be required. If you don't like it not being listed then don't use their service.

It's called regulating the market to make things easier for consumers and users of this website. Are you really going to value the extra 30 seconds that the single gold seller has to go through to edit a few threads or the hundreds of daily gold buyers that could benefit from it?

And here's why it's such a problem, they would advertise a certain price on their thread and when you check their site it's much different and almost always much higher. And sometimes they would advertise a price in their thread title and the price wouldn't even actually be on the thread itself and the price in the title isn't the actual price on the site.

I personally hate the "Prices vary, check site" posts. This would be something beneficial for the consumers and the users for the site. If the big gold sellers have to go through the "hassle" of spending an extra minute every week or so to edit a few threads, then so be it. You're trying to help the users of the site as administrators, not just sticking out for the poor ol' goldselling companies.

Support. It is tremendously annoying to the point, I do not bother going to their website and look at another thread which has it stated.

They are just using it as a way to get traffic. The few minutes that the goldsellers would have to spend will help the buyers a lot. I say, we get them to state the price of gold on their thread.

I'm not sticking out for anyone - I just don't think we need to micromanage everything they have on their threads. It's your job as a consumer to shop around for the best deal if you want the best deal. Obviously they're going to dress it up and put their best price on the thread even if it's only if you spent 500$+ and use a certain payment method; that's a free market for ya.

You're blowing this way out of proportion. You're not micromanaging everything on their threads, just telling them to include a price. Literally less than 5 characters. And of course I agree with a free market, but you do realize that free markets still have slight regulation.

Oh, and, as a customer, it's in your best interest to get in touch with as many goldsellers as possible to try to get the best deal/play them off of each other/supply people who urgently need the gold/etc. So you should go through that process anyway. It's not like clicking a few links really hurts you.

This right here. Takes them 5 seconds to include a price but also takes you 5 seconds to click a link..

    I totally agree with Super...

    Also,
Prices changes depending on amount/method... So you cant really have a fixed price on a thread.

Edit : forgot to say, no support

As a gold seller I can say it would be a huge hassle to have to update every time the site prices change. Especially because the prices on our sites vary by payment method and amount of gold being purchased.
Custom orders would not be possible on the Sythe thread.
I don't see the problem in having to open a few links to find the best price.

Given the market, you should probably be contacting the seller directly for a price quote every time you're looking to buy gold anyways. Denied.
