Regarding gold prices

need more people trying to max their skils. bring in more gold/item sinks. new skill would help if it was like construction in anyway. that shit is a huge gold sink. This won't ever happen cuz it promotes children gambling but if there was an npc that did 55+ dicing then that would be a huge gold sink.

 

I'd be all for gold sinks. Eventually it will be just like RS3 where the price per mil is worthless. Nowadays having 100m isn't anything to brag about.

 

what you're saying does not make sense. Jagex is actually trying to figure out ways to remove items and gold so we have an economy that becomes healthy and sustainable in the long run. Why do you think they keep adding small gold sinks and keep tweaking the game? If you can be productive and help in anyway then let me know.

Use your noggin. People tend to purchase the same USD amount regardless of the price per mil. So they'll buy 50M at $1/M for $50 or 250M at $0.2M for $50. The difference is the margins. With the first instance, the gold site would buy the gold for say $0.8/M and sell for $1/M which is a gross profit margin of 20%. In the latter, the company would buy it at say $0.15/M and sell for $0.2/M which is a gross profit margin of 25%. This is, not using real numbers, the difference between RS3 and 07 currently. That means, purely on a gross profit margin basis, RS3 is a more profitable.

However, RS3 is also purchased far less frequently, so 07 is more profitable due to more orders. As established above, people's orders tend to be the same USD amount regardless of the price of the gold, so across servers the average order is about the same. Additionally, as 07 has fallen in price, the average order, excluding the initial opening couple weeks, has been roughly the same. This means as the demand remains constant, the average order USD amount remains constant, and the margin steadily gets wider, gold shops will make more profit as the price of gold drops. This has already been the case from when gold was around and just below $2/M until now. Do some research and check the average buy and sell price then and the average buy and sell price now. Higher margins, and actually increased demand due to increased advertising from firms and an expanding player base for 07.

just don't sell them gold for that price. I literally just tell them i can cover any amount and they always come running when they don't have other people to buy from. This works with any amount of gold btw. why would you work to gain x amount just to sell it a discount?

If you have an idea how to better the market go post about it somewhere and see how people respond. If you try to get in contact with jagex they will reply.

I think the market would be ok if they found a balance between gold/items coming in and out of the game. We just need to avoid updates like minnows where it's possible to catch 600-700 raw sharks p/h. Hopefully mobile does well and hopefully jagex start polling updates to try and strengthen the economy for the long term.

 

Yes but you implied it hurts the market to have low prices, which isn't actually the case so I'm very confused at this point regarding what your platform is now

 

I was shocked when i saw price gold drop...was kinda happy but all prices of all items just go up with it lol..

 

but they're going down:\ We need some items sinks. When mobile comes out we can hope for a boost in players however that will just be a short term fix because we have to understand that a % of those players will eventually become strong enough to kill the high level bosses and create more item inflation.
