So should I be buying a controller adapter so I can attach my gamecube controller to my computer?

This. I have a XB1 controller and was Super Smash Melee king on gamecube back in my day Had tournaments when I was young and made a few bucks. Pikachu and Samus were my shit. I totally want to play with you guys haha

Also I'll need help setting up...no clue what netplay is.

 

I got the game set up I think, but not sure how to use my controller with it or how to join a game.

Edit: Think I figured out the XB1 controller...but I'll need to test it as it doesn't say what's jump or anything.
