Recieve SMS notification for Gmail.

In this guide I'll show you how to receive a txt message notification everytime you get an email. (Gmail) This is useful for many things. I use it for my pin shop. I let people email me and I get their message on my phone and I can sell them pins from wherever I might be. If you use this wisely it can help you tons.



How to do it?

This is very simple. Follow these steps.

1. Log in to your gmail account.

2. Go to the top right corner and click settings on the main page.

3. After you get to the settings page go to the " Forwarding and POP/IMAP " tab.



4. After you go to that tab go to the first option called " Forwarding "

5. You wanna check the circle next to the " Forward a copy of incoming mail to " option.



6. Once you check that option you need to put your phone number in the mail too box. I'll show you how to put your cellphone number in there.

7. Go to http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/email-to-sms/ and find out what your carrier is. I use verizon so for me it's [10-digit phone number]@vtext.com.

8. You wanna look for your carrier. When you find it you wanna find the email address thing that says text at the end of it, not pix.

9. After you get your carrier you wanna put your number in the email address like this. (NOTE: this is a random number used for this guide) [email protected]

10. You wanna take the email address that you just made and put it in the " Mail to " box. Once you do this just go down and click save changes and you should be done.
