I can imagine this being a bit of a problem, I'm still deciding which market I want to go into as I think Bitcoin will be my main payment method to swap/sell currency.
    Any suggestions?

I remember buying 142 btc when they were only $4 bucks per btc =D

I sold them all at 2013 when they reached 1k peak.. now that was pure profit. I knew it was going to drop after that day. Good day to cash out.

But yeah the prices have already drop again.

    Doubt it.

That's a pretty big profit and would have been considered a "dump" at the time therefore would have an affect on the actual price of BTC itself.

I made a good $4k off it however as I decided to buy about 4 BTC at $8 each when I saw potential, really didn't expect it to rise so high but hopefully it will stabilise soon.

Well if it's true than nice job. Did you originally purchase the btc expecting that kind of rise and profit or did you luck out?

Yeah that's indeed crazy if indeed true.

OT: It seems to be bouncing back and forth between 375-400$ or so. Do you think it'll settle down in that region?

Releasing more btc into the market during an unstable price, wouldn't that cause them to go down in price? Unless they're selling them to a private collector who won't dump them.

Any of you have an idea of what caused the rise? I haven't been keeping track of Reddit recently, so I don't know if a major event happened that caused the rise.

Bitcoin is still stabilizing from what I can see. The current market cap is 5.2B as a user stated above me it could very well go back to $1000 usd. Not overnight of course. Anyways I been doing some research as well and I don't know why it's spking but I can see that it's not slowing down anytime soon.

Something to do with slowing down the mining rate, and China. That's all I know.

It's definitely slowed down the past couple days. Seems to be stabilizing around 375-400$ or so. Fluctuating a lot though.

Now it's crashing, surprise surprise haha. Just happy I sold it and profited, despite the fact I could have made a fair bit more. Safe money is always good :)

Wouldn't be surprised if the price rises again fairly soon.

It's pretty similar to stock market, no one know for sure when it will fall/rise.
I wouldn't recommend playing with it unless you are a professional investor that keep tracks of all world news 24/7/has insider information related to any change in government monetary policies etc.
Trade and specialization. Don't venture into territories that you have no expertise in. When you do not possess any competitive advantage over others, statically speaking your chance of winning is <= 50%

Definitely yeah. I find it fun to track prices, primarily because I use btc as my currency online. It almost went below 300, but now it's back up to 320. Really unstable and a bit scary atm haha

I don't think my heart is capable of handling investing in something that fluctuates as much as BTC does.

Yeah but it's stable around 330~ which is nice. Hopefully once it's fully stable it'll slowly start climbing.
