Really Angry

Just need to kind of vent, and need reasons why I shouldn't be angry. Call it stupid if you want, but if you're not willing to help in any way don't post please.

I'll start off by saying this is a 3rd world country, pretty much a poor country. I've been here for a few years now, and I can't really compare the cab/taxi with other countries as I've never taken one. I have a very few times, but that was too long ago.

I was going to my dad's condo, him and my mum have split up, just wanted to visit. It costs around $5-6 to get there. I take taxis/cabs all the time here, as I just got my license and don't have a car yet. And when I was coming back, the driver told me to add enough which would be equivalent to $1.25 to $5, I told him it costs me that much to get back, because of the traffic (at 11pm). I agreed. There was little traffic, the car stopped and didn't move for like 5 minutes, so it was nothing really. So coming back, when we were near, he noticed that it wouldn't even reach $5. So he turned the meter off, so I assumed I'd have paid $5 and what I said I'd add which still didn't bother me 1 bit. So when we were near, I asked if he had change for my money, because I could've stopped at 7 11 to buy something and get change. He said he did. The place I live in is a huge village. So he just stops outside the village, he didn't even go in. And he hands me the change, he basically took $9. So I thought "wtf?", we agreed that it would be less, there was next to no traffic, and you won't even take me in. There are these vehicles outside the village, that takes you in as well, so I had to go in one of them and paid about a dollar.

So why am I so angry? I just wanted to punch that guy in the face. Money isn't an issue for me, I don't work for it, and I can get more whenever I want/need. While I was even there, I was giving the "needy" money, I gave a security a little tip. I was being a nice person. I don't know why I'm angry, I don't think it's the money. But I guess it's just that I can't do anything to that guy anymore, getting his license plate # won't do much. And my mum said it isn't even worth it. I kind of want to get back at him, for being a greedy son of a...

I'm posting this hoping someone could help calm me down, and give me a few reasons why I shouldn't be angry. Thanks for reading.

 

Everybody has little financial losses from time to time. I'm sure you've experienced some online based on your $6000 handled in your sig. You just have to be the bigger person and remember that there's more things to life than money. Be grateful for what you do have and that things could have been a lot worse. Don't forget, you can't change the past so there's no point in really worrying about it.

 

It's not the money, it's that I basically let him away with what he wanted. One thing I hate most is when that happens, even with games. Get lucky, don't give me another chance. Wasn't my money anyway, my dad gives me money whenever I ask for it. So I don't even work for it. It's just another bad guy that gets away with something horrible, even if karma would get him back, I'll never know or see it lol

 

I know what you mean. I can't stand the fact that someone is "stealing" off of me either. I mean even if the cab driver would ask me for $4 more I would just give it to him, but taking it just like that would piss me the fuck off.

I know what you mean, but there's nothing you can do about it. There is, but you shouldn't. It's really not worth it.

 

It's just one of those things you have to get over. Some things just arent worth worrying about.
