REAL DUPE in OSRS found yesterday..

Looks to me like there's a bug in one of the server commands.
inv_dropitem_delayed() is documented to drop the specified number of items, with a delay. Which is what we wanted.
However, what it seems to have done is drop a completely different number of items, creating them out of thin air. If I told it to drop 1, it worked fine. But if I told it to drop 2, it'd drop 2, then it'd drop another 1. If I told it to drop 5, it'd drop 5, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1.

I've released a patch that avoids passing numbers into this command apart from "1". I'll ask the engine team to fix the command in future, so that this doesn't happen again, but we don't intend to leave this death-drop behaviour in OSRS after the network issues are fixed, so hopefully it will become a moot point.

lol that was them testing for new interface stuff I believe just some notes he noticed while testing from the sounds of things guy.

Yeah, it doesn't seem like a live bug that was abused. If it was, it sure wasn't widely known, because there would be AGS'es and third age all over the place.

Lol looks like they messed up their recursive function. Regardless, I don't get why they are telling anyone this. It looks like it is a constructor that normal players do not even have access to since we can only drop one item at a time.
