    I don't think SuF was referring to BCEL client hacking as much as a simple world loader that uses runescape.jar to load the game.

    You could always use the runescape.jar on the site to load the game, couldn't you?

    You don't need to modify the client in any way to use BCEL to get the client version... And you could also simply get the version from the server, store it in a file, and when you get a new version from the query download the jar again...

    I understand the code perfectly fine... He said something about it knowing when it was outdated and I did not understand what he was on about.

    I am not trying to make client side hacks. I am just trying to get some practice by making a world switcher that loads the client from your computer.

    I thought doing it this way would be easy, but its really not. If I had time to go through RS source to find out how to ask the server the version number I would... But... I do not feel like it.

    One variable is kept constant throughout each client version, you just have to find it's value. I'm sure you could use the BufferedReader API to help you.
