Wanna bet that theres gonna be no support because some poor soul has to implement this @Kyle

 

This idea has some potential, however, we encourage people to utilize the search option on sythe, rather than to rely on lists that need to be updated. This suggestion doesn't benefit sythe.org or Sythe Discord servers much, while being time consuming.

Please forgive me if I don't state some things I consider obvious, or miss something.

When using the forums - people can see who's TWC, DNT, or banned
When using the Sythe Community / Trading Discord server - people can see who's TWC, DNT and banned users are removed

There could be much more said, but to keep it short - your premise is that someone will develop a functioning bot able to do the things that you suggested above and a trusted entity, i.e. sythe staff in this case, will feed the bot with information (that is already publicly available on sythe and easy to find) which will result in less off-site scams and Discord server owners will use this database when hiring workers, or dealing with customers.

I'll address my points in reversed order:
1) Dealing with customers and knowing if they are TWC/DNT/Banned on sythe - if this is relevant to your business, one quick Discord name/ID look up on sythe will do the job. Please use sythe.
2) Hiring workers - the thread as you proposed is insufficient - deeper background check is required
3) Off-site scams - use sythe. If an imposter / double spender or similar DMs you, please open a report and staff will ban him from Sythe Discord servers.
4) Bot development - even if this suggestion is denied the community is free to develop and maintain such bot (yes, there are obvious risks).

How could this really benefit sythe? The bot could ban blacklisted UIDs, but then instead of blacklisting someone, staff could just manually ban him.

tl;dr - you want sythe to help others with their trades / businesses off-site. That's fine (funnily enough we had a suggestion to ban advertising of Discord servers on sythe and now you suggest to help them), but not a priority.

Please keep in mind that even if this suggestion is denied, nothing's stopping you from developing and maintaining a bot on your own, or with a team of people that share your enthusiasm (There's already a similar bot BTW).

I'm quite indifferent, thought.

Do keep in mind the bot can only do this once someone has verified their account. Users can join the Sythe Discord but have to go through a verification process before getting access to all the channels. Because of this process, the bot knows the TWC/DNT user of the status. This means if this bot was in my own Discord servers, everyone would have to manually verify before having access. This will then cause some users to not do this and take their business elsewhere. So from a business perspective it's better for servers to not use this.

I also agree with Blackblasses here. This suggestion would mostly help Discord servers and it's staff, not really the users of those servers.
