Read x amount of times..?

Would this even be possible to implement such a feature that would go back to EVERY thread created on sythe to total up the amount of times your post has been seen by other users of the community? Does sythe have the capacity for this, would it take up extra bandwidth?

It would be interesting at least to see the total reach of all of your posts on sythe.org, i know it's something i'd like to see, but only if it wouldn't cause much extra stress on the servers, as it is mainly trivial and not exactly a necessity :love:

Also, a total of how many threads you've looked at?

So are a ton of other suggestions. It's just a fun things, like Mini-ranks. See the statistics of what's gone down.

It's trivial however. Only a few people would actually look at this statistic whereas Mini-ranks are universal.

 

It has just as much importance, and it wouldn't be hard to make either.

 

When everyone views mini-ranks but only some would view this statistic, how do you figure it is just as important?

 

When not even close to everyone wants to see them though? There is absolutely no importance to them, other then a fun little thing.

This suggestion has no importance either, it will change no one. It will just be for show.

 

Granted, not everyone wants to see mini-ranks but that's besides the point. More people appreciate mini-ranks than they would a statistic such as this. If it can be put in easily by Sythe and he is bored or whatever and feels like adding it, then sure. Otherwise I don't care and I'm sure a lot of others share this opinion.

 

Thread view count is technically good enough with some mathematical analysis.

How about this: Thread view count / (Current Date - Thread start) = views per day

Views per day for a post would be the views per day from the date posted until the start of the next page - If your post was on page 3 you can expect it to be viewed until some poster begins page 4.

No point in implementing a feature if you can estimate it off the top of your head.

Pointless, you can see how many views your thread has had, just count between bumps.

I actually quite like this idea. It differentiates between people who make posts on dead threads for post count and people who take active participation.
It could be shown next to your post count.

 

I don't think anyone cares how many people have seen their posts, and it certainly doesn't prove anything, so no support.
