RE: Regarding the right to vanish

I'm surprised to see this still open. It's actually not an instant-denial.
Sythe's rules are living, open to interpretation by the staff team and accepting change as agreed upon.

That being said, the rule in question only exists to protect substantiated claims. The staff team WILL delete anything where the accused is found to be at no fault, and will even punish the OP if it's found that evidence was faked or the allegations were brought about to only harm the accused member or business.

The rule has done more good than harm, and will continue to do so. Though you can't physically "see" the evidence of it working, trust us in that search engine results will show bad users, and filter away potential new (most likely otherwise uninformed to a fault) clients, saving them from financial and mental stresses.

The age of contemporary technology has a habit of keeping record of all activities, both "good" and "bad," both legally and morally. This serves to stand as a backbone to encourage decisions by users that are public-ally acceptable and justifiable.
It serves as a mean to monitor the masses by using their own fear in a subconscious way. This may startle some to think about, but is essential for human improvement and development.

It's quite simple. If a future employer and/or someone looking to "harm" you by digging up your past finds something, it shouldn't be hidden in the first place. Mistakes are made by everyone, and exist to improve that individual. Hiding a mistake and pretending it never existed leads to a false sense of security, and vastly increases the chances that the aforementioned individual will continue the behavior in the future.

By assuring all evidence, good and bad, is brought to the public in a method to where it's constantly available, we at Sythe attempt to do well on both ends of the spectrum.

RE: Regarding the right to vanish

I made posts when I was younger and plastered my email everywhere because everyone used MSN. I had to report loads of my old posts to get the email removed (which I tried to distance anything important from but wasn't able to do so fully). The difference between being 21 and 12 is huge lol!

I reckon people would really try to abuse this in order to delete Information maliciously and personally the way it's done at the moment is fine. It was handled really well for me and it wasn't like the mod who deleted my email was outright unreasonable about it, I'm sure the staff know when someone is trying to remove their past for good or bad reasons.
