Hide it. People complain about that section far too much and I think you moderators would much benefit from being able to do them as much as you like at anytime with out people, like this poor lad complaining, which would mean flooding in this board, and the feedback forum.



Which also comes to another point; the report button is abused by so many people and is just wasting time in which was once a feeble attempt to get their e-penis larger. It's the same like four people reporting the most minor and retarded posts just because they hold grudges like a ten year old or think that if they hang out in the IRC and report spammers they can get mod. Why not forumban constant abusers of the RaS? It would be far more efficient not having to look at the same people reporting the same annoying things over and over and it not even being the slightest bit of spam. Forgive my poor paragraph structure, as it's like 10:00 AM and I woke up not too long ago.

He's performing a valid service. Reporting things like this will hopefully get people realizing they're fucking morons, and need to learn the rules . Mu-b is doing great, and shouldn't have to stop. He has to wait 5 minutes inbetween each of his reports, and it takes all of maybe at max a minute to do a report. So if he reports a post every chance he gets, it would only take a fifth of the time to do them as it took him to report it . It doesn't seem to bad, imo.

Have you ever been in the IRC? For one, the IRC isn't even affiliated. Yes, there's sometimes Sythe talk in there, but I hardly see mu-b posting saying "I'm gonna report this nub" or anything like that. It's not a typical topic of conversation in the IRC.

You don't report people to get mod, well, maybe you do, but I know most of us don't . We report people who are generally annoying, and we don't have the time to flame/troll them into getting banned... Reporting them requires much less bandwidth, and sometimes sees better results ^.^. I've come to love that little red/white button ^.^.

And just because we can't see it, doesn't mean we won't stop reporting. The only thing I use the section for is to backtrack and see if the staff pwned the stupid bitches I reported... if they didn't, I generally don't care, and just keep an eye out for a stupid post by the same person ^.^.

Anyways, point and fact... hiding the section will only stop people from bitching about reports not being done... it won't stop them from reporting >.>...

 

No lol, it's not that people should report but the fact that sometimes people frequently report people who are NOT spamming. Showing mu-b was an example, I wasn't saying he should stop it, but there's worse things on this site like scamming and stuff like "lol that was really funny, i liked it" shouldn't be reported just because it's barely spam.

I don't want people to stop reporting, I just want them to stop whining about their reports not being done

 

I support, this section should be in the staff forums. So it could get done faster with minimal complaints.

I think we should just limit spam posts, that would prevent a certain someone from doing them in excess, and cutting down on the work that needs to be done.

 

So essentially, we're saying "You can report someone 'X' times a month, and the rest of the time members are able to freely spam, flame, thread hijack, etc."?

Removing post counts in the Report a Spammer section is a great idea because it cuts down on the post counters there, and reduces it to mainly valid reports.

 

I don't know what I'm saying, i guess removing the post count works too, except for the member in the main post.

This is a great idea. mu-b is always there...constantly...reporting..what needs to be reported...and what doesn't need to be reported.. over 200...and counting. Seriously? I mean some are actual spam, but the rest is just for post count. Im not saying stop, but check if its actually spam.

Post count removal shouldve have been there from the start..

I support something being done about people that report for no reason. I think the spam section is so filled right now, it's ridiculous. The staff doesn't have time to read every little spam report. Excessive spam is bad though. >.< Idk how anyone could fix this. Maybe make spamming reports infractable?

If it is hidden from the public, then staff will never do it.

Also, new comers will see there is no RaSpammer forum and they will think spamming is all right.

 

If they're going to do anything with it, rather than hiding it, they should put it as a sub-forum to the staff section, for easier access, and for others to be able to observe what is being done.

It's how the spammer reports are set up on RSBot, and they never reach half a page.

I think that the solution is not to completely remove the RaS forum, but design and put in place a new system for dealing with the subject?
I have a few ideas but they may need discussing and improving?
