Range Tank/Slayer

So blowpipe is really fucking good with addy bolts. Way too expensive for most tasks, at least while leveling (60 slayer). I have 82 range 70 def. What weapon is cheap enough to use while leveling, switching to pipe once I get into the higher levels and start profiting off my tasks?

Depends on the task. If the target has high defence r cbow/diamond/broad.
Low defence msb(I)/mith knives. But in all honesty, you’re better off using the blowpipe in 95% of tasks. If you can’t afford it, I’d recommend doing something else to make GP until you can.

That’s kinda what I figured. What level slayer does it take to finally be able to profit, or even just start to break even on my pipe? I’m 60 now and the tasks definitely aren’t money makers by any stretch of the imagination lol. I get excited about bloodvelds.

It all depends on the luck of the task really. If you skip/block the right tasks you can make profit at around 80 pretty constantly, but it all depends what you're assigned ofc.

Right yeah I feel ya. I would love to stick to the range tank just because I’m already 82 range 70 def, but it really looks like it’s THAT much more expensive to use blowpipe. Arma cbow would probably honestly be right behind blowpipe on everything but, ya know, pretty expensive. I used rune cbow and broads for a few tasks and it looks like it’s like 15k less range xp/h, which doesn’t sound that bad, but again, we’re losing arrows every few shots with Ava’s so idk if it’s still a substantial loss or not. And cbow attack speed is for the fucking birds man lol.

Yeah the 15k/hour less doesn't seem like a lot, but once you add up the amount of hours you need for slayer; it gets to be a big difference very quickly.

So I assumed mith darts were shit because everyone raves over addy, but they’re over 3x cheaper and they’re doing fucking work. That definitely helps with a huge part of the cost.

Nothing shit about mith darts. Especially vs the caliber of monster you’re fighting at 60 slayer. Once you start getting assigned higher levels, with higher defence, they slow down a bit; but they’re still better than any other method most of the time.

Blowpipe is best for slayer on a range tank with mith darts(same price as steel darts) i used addy darts on boss tasks.
I was a range tank, The only boss task what was aids was KQ.
People who calling mith darts shit are dumb ppl,
i used mith darts from 75-99range(13m - 25M XP in range) and went from 1-93 slayer with mith darts. Mith darts are super good vs slayer monsters because a lot of slayer monsters have low def.
I only use addy darts for boss's or raids.

at first blowpiping cost a lot but when you get 70+ slayer, the tasks end up making you money so you are paying for the scales with some tasks and others you end up making money and end up profitting.
