Range tank help please

Ok, so I recently started a new account and I want to make a range tank of it.
I am planning to keep this account F2P and also pk in f2p.
But I have no experience with range tanks.
I had a serious question about it.
Do I have to complete dragon slayer and then train defence to 40 ?(to wear dhide body) but this will also give me strenght xp which I dont need.
or do I have to train 40 defence all myself to wear rune chain body?
or completly something different?
please help me I don't know what to do :s

 

If you're planning on staying 1 strength and primarily range/defence then I recommend settling for the rune chain.

You can use the "Longrange" option to get 40 defence. However, although I'm not experienced in this area, I think it's hard to get kills. I mean, you don't get hit much, although with 1 attack and strength it's virtually impossible to get a "k0" since there are very limited ranging options as a F2P player.

 

Most pures are going to call you a defence noob and run away from you so I would not recommend fighting with a tank.

If you still feel like PKing on the tank, then follow Bud's advice.

 

Range tanks are much better in p2p. I would suggest Range 2h for F2P. To answer your question, rune chain in my opinion.

 

dhide body, once your ranged is high enough the couple str levels wont effect your combat to be honest

 

Get strength up as well. You won't get any kills without it in F2P, unless you DM. So in response to your question. Train defense with strength and do Dragon Slayer.

 

just get high range and like 30 def then do dragon slayer cause its only like 13k+ str exp which wont get u any cb lvls up.
