Raising prices for services, is it okay?

hi, I have very low prices at the moment for fire capes, arguably the lowest for both and definitely the lowest for pures. I have been promoted at work and am now working more hours so was seeing if raising prices to compensate for how little free time I have is a fair/viable option for me. I have asked this to a lot of people in my pure clan who use my service and was hoping to get some feedback here.

I do not sell much of the gold, but play rs with it as I have a great job IRL that easily pays my bills. Currently I make about 5-6m/hr doing capes efficiently. But my free time has dwindled down drastically this last month due to work, and I want to be able to make better money with the time I have. I get swarmed with requests when I do bump my thread (average 8-12 requests per day, more on weekends between sythe and my pure clan.) I understand a big factor is my pricing though, but is my current level of "trust" on this site enough to get me business? Rates will go up 10-20% or less. Pures and mains will remain same price as I specialize in pure capes.

I raised the prices of my quest services when the demand from the Sythe community grew bigger than what I could offer at the time. Its all about supply and demand really.

My main concern is not being established enough to where people would rather pay more to use a larger provider, although I would still remain vastly cheaper. I guess I could try to see how demand would be with different pricing but I'm afraid to waste my precious free time awaiting orders that won't come.

 

Larger providers get swarmed with orders too. If theyre booked, ur an option. And I feel being highest thread on the section gets a majority of traffic if decent rep which u have

 

Yeah definitely if you learn the best times to bump your thread on busy days you can drive in a large number of orders in no time. I think once I get some time off work tonight I will tweak prices and see what happens. Thanks so much!

 

You could hire an MBA student to write out some charts for you and do a full analysis. Or you can just give it a shot Usually trial/error is the name of the game with pricing and business in general. If people stop buying, then you know you've priced too high.

 

Gold prices have dropped significantly so I’ve had to raise the price of my b gloves service, that’s something to consider alongside your moral concerns.

I would go for it, as you can always just lower the price if supply drops too low.
A little more donation wouldn't hurt if you're worried about not being established enough. A custom Username image and Username title can go a long way.

Anyways, it's totally normal to increase your prices. That's life! You may not get as many because other people are super competitive and will undercut prices, but that's business! Supply and demand brother.
