Ok, so you worked at Mcdonalds, now at BK? What do you mean by 'run'? Do you own one of the franchises, or just work in one?

 

Running construction work* also starting school back up for business. Plan to turn my relatively small subcontracting to a full blown GC one day.

Often I clear significantly more, sometimes a little less. If times get slow I've got an invitation for $21/hr gig as a worker with my old company.

As of the last year or so I havent worked hourly at all and have been my own boss. Saved up around $38k while still keeping up my own place. Not bragging by any means as I'm still admittedly small fish, but I'm coming up and it feels good. I guess my sense of satisfaction comes from the fact that I'm doing it myself. That and pulling 2-5+ grand a week is pretty rad considering I was working for $10 an hour (and it was retail, I had to put a face on!) when I started. Its a good fit for me.

A lot of people look down on construction work, but its a multi billion dollar industry in demand world wide. I plan on getting a piece of it.

Its certainly better than Burgerking anyways.

Not that I owe any explanations, but I'll have a crack at that.

From May 17th to July 11th, our most active employee Miles made ~7000$ USD, not including what I owe him for development. Not sure what I pay per month overall for employees, but it would be more like 10-50$/hour on peak times depending on sales (sometimes it might be 10$ in an hour, sometimes it'll be 150$ in a single trade). On a sidenote, though miles may work the most hours and might make the most money of the 9 employees, his commission is much lower than muffy and eva due to him not being around selling bonds for 10hours a day when we started off.

Though muffy doesn't work as much on live chat anymore, because he took on an accounting position that works better with his irl situation, he has the capability to make more than 25$ USD/hour at his commission. Can ask ex-employees at bogla, or current ones what they make, and they'd all say 10-20$+ /hour except the aussie timezone.

Total payout wouldn't reach 20k+, because unfortunately 24 hours aren't peak hours.

This isn't my full time job; I'm still a student, have another job, and volunteer at a hospital. I don't expect to be making as much money as people who are doing this for a living. If your company makes more, the discrepancy is likely in what we pay our employees.

 

500 chats a day on average, I'll be pulling numbers out of my ass. Let's say 200 are customers that buy gold. Let's say they sell $40 or make $10 profit per customer on average. That's $8k in sales or $2k profit a day? We can lower the number to 100 customers and it would still make sense. 4 customers/sales per hour sounds low though. Do you have to be in chat to even buy gold?

I'm surprised you have another job, I could only guess it's for the experience.

 

When I worked for Bogla (6pm est - 1 am est) timezone, I was making between 10-50$ an hour, keep in mind $50/h was a very rare thing, but sometimes there were many big sales lined up. I would average the pay around 15-20$ an hour usually during my time with them, and I wasn't even working in the most active timezone.

I don't actually own the business I oversee all operations of the restaurant. This is also my current owners first restaurant so before he makes just about any decision regarding the store it goes through me.

I used to do unskilled labor in Alberta. Tearing down fences for 23$ for a 17 year old wasn't bad

Wasn't doing anything wrong. Actually the last month before I quit I made probably my largest number of sales and ended up with either $210 or $270 I forget. (It was whatever I was like 17 but still kind of disheartening) He doesn't give you a commission on sales, it's more of a share of his profits based off of how much you sold. That "20% of sales commission" or whatever quickly shrinks when he factors the cost of banner ads, chargebacks, pretty much every overhead fee into what you make

 

Is this supposed to be impressive? I know someone who managed a Dominos and made less than the delivery people.

Morgan, it was a placement that was 100% commission based, and unfortunately you happened to be selling at the record lowest population ever recorded on Runescape.

The commissions you speak of ($250~) were during Sept - Nov 2013 as shown here:

Your commissions followed that graph almost perfectly for the times you sold for us. They were basically 2x higher between May 2013 and Aug 2013. Although you missed several shifts, I do appreciate the time you spent representing our company, and apologize if it left a bad taste in your mouth.

This month, every delivery agent here will earn over $1,000. Some will earn over $2,000.

 

I don't think you understand, I'm contracting. I get the contracts, do the more critical work and sub the rest.. Meaning I don't fucking do it..

The only work I physically do is metal stud framing and that isn't because I can't afford to pay someone to do it but because I like it. Also the framing is the most important part. Eventually I'll find guys I'll trust with that. From the framing on I hire drywallers, tapers/finishers, painters and I generally install the doors. 80%+ of my work is supervision (my contract, my responsibility whether I delegate it to someone else or not), blue prints (material take offs and estimates/bids. I own a small company, I have two full time employees and 6 finishers/painters right now. I'm getting contracts from Balfour Beatty, New South and Joeris.. All nationwide or international GC's. I'm not picking up trash or tearing down fences lol, I'm hustling my ass off getting jobs started, finding work and keeping guys busy. There's a lot more to construction than the guys just doing the work. And I know what side of the desk I want to be on. That little check was a draw on a $26,000 contract. Don't compare your day laborer experience to what I do.. I've got experience in CAD, numerous estimation softwares and managing multiple trades at a time. A point of reference; Donald Trump build a large portion of his capitol contracting, in fact he still does (just caught a lot of heat for hiring illegals lol).
