So for the past 2 years ive been smoking, but its really taking a toll on me working out and such out of breath really easy but find it almost near impossible to quit, anyone got any advice that might help without useing nicotine patches or gum?

Want to buy some cigarettes? LOL just kidding, try chewing gum or patches? I don't smoke so I wouldn't really know but this is what I've heard off.

I'm going to post a guide in the user education section soon, I'll link on this thread when I do, it's HELL quitting, and I haven't quit yet, and it's hell trying. Just biggest tip, cut down and space out between smokes :)

What my aunt did was just cut down how many she was smoking every few weeks until she was able to stop.

How many cigs / packs are you smoking a day? Try smoking half as many for a few weeks until you feel comfortable, then start smoking half as many again.

@-Pearce... 10 posts and im pretty sure you didnt even look at the post, post somthing worth of value or dont post at all, I said I didnt want to use gum or patches

You should read this article. It's very informational and might even help you quit smoking.

Whenever I feel like smoking but can't, don't want to, or any other reason, I eat some mints. They always seem to help curb it

Use the biggest motivator of all.... MONEY$$$$

Just remind yourself about all of the money you are using on cigs.

Lets say you buy a pack a day. Throw away 1 cig on the first pack then 2 on the second then 3 on the third etc..I don't know if this would work well but its worth a try imo.

Well, the best thing is to promise yourself for real that you want to quit.
Having doubts and don't want to quit makes you wanna smoke again..so best thing is to be honest to yourself and ask if you really want to quit.

I had same problem too and I quit but started with Snuff ^_^

If you keep smoking untill ull 50. you would of wasted over 100K USD!

(I calculated my uncles, He was like: WTF I coulda gotten a epic car, I'm jsut like GF)

2. It'll kill you.

3. You wont find any good girls.

3rd Oh really ? is this what your mom told you ?

My answer is just stop smoking... Smoked since i was 7. continued till i was 19 so thats 12 years of smoking. It really dosen't feel good quiting, but there is only will power involved.

If you really feel bad when quitting try sleeping it off if you can. if you get the sensation of hunger, try eating something that wouldn't add to your weight too much.

just push ur self, and good luck man, ur doing a good thing

As others have been saying, slowly cut down until it won't be as drastic if you completely quit. It's next to impossible to smoke a pack a day or even a pack a week and just quit.

Get you wisdom teeth out haha "that's what I'm going threw right now". Haha no but all reality replace it with chewing gum. I hear the patches work for "SOME PEOPLE" didn't work for me. What I did was went to the doctor and he gave me a prescription for this stuff that made me sick when I smoked and that made me quit real quick. took the pills for a month haven't smoked in over a year.

I'll try to find out what pills I was taking and post here. Also something else that helped me every 2 days I would put the money I spent on cigs in a jar to show how much money I was spending. I actually still do that helps me save a little bit as well =P.

Good luck man you will figure it out! Rewards are the best way of learning.

no wasn't chantix im looking for the bottle right now. It was some crazy name not very heard of. It seriously made me like real sick I think that's why its not very popular but it worked.

Sunflower seeds got me to quit smoking. I have not smoked in over a year now, and feel fantastic.

Honestly, the only way to really quit these addicting habits is 2 things:

Self Will/Determination.
Replacing it with a less harmful habit (Chewing Gum)

Lets look at the positives.
Your health will increase.
Your breath will be better.
Your teeth will be better.
Your life expectancy will most likely go up.
You won't be looked down upon by other people.
You won't cough as much.
You won't be shunned against.
You will save an ENORMOUS amount of money.

You will have a better life, and this is just to name a few.

Hypnotherapy works for some, it's extreme but if you want to quit then persevere.
