quick question about my connection

i'm not sure if this is the right place for this but. about 3 weeks ago my connection is been really bad, i have time warner cable and the thing is my download speed is fine,upload fine but when i play games i 1 bar and lag badly? what should i say about that to them?

 

Do you play games on the same PC that you test your connection on? Are you using wifi? Elaborate a bit more

 

yes i did test on the same pc, and i'm using wired

 

Maybe reset your router? Also check your pc for malware.. Your pc could be infected, part of a botnet.. (used for ddos attacks, etc.. blah blah blah)

 

Upload speed is also crucial in the realm of connecting to the internet. Another term for "upload speed" is "uplink speed" implying that without a strong uplink you can't connect to the internet. Download speed isn't everything. I suggest maybe upgrading the TWC to the package with ~5mbps upload speed.

 

ill try to do that, but the thing is i had the same internet for about 4 years and then once i upgraded my internet/cable (caller id on tv recording wifi ect) it got really bad after like 2 months i was hoping it was a problem from my side, i guess i gotta downgrade lol

 

There might be noise in the lines or something. I've had similar problems with TWC and it always takes time to develop. Does it happen with other online games? I don't know what game you're playing. Or 1080p YT vids?
