Questions on kMiner and VPS

Right now I have a VPS, running Windows Workstation 2008, it has 1gb of ram on it, and I use it for botting LRC with kMiner, it's running into some problems like not solving randoms and such.

I'm wondering if the problem is that it's constantly 98-99% ram? would this cause the bot to have trouble at solving randoms?

How much ram would I need for 2 bots at LRC? and which OS should I be using instead of Windows? will kMiner work on any other OS?

I think the 1gm of ram, and the 98-99% ram usage is your problem.

I'm not familiar with kMiner, however I do know that yes your bot will have problems solving randoms, and functioning normally if your RAM/CPU is overloaded as yours is.

I'd say 2gb of ram may beable to run 3 bots at LRC, not 100% sure though.

On the website it says kMiner is still functioning properly, so maybe it's just you?

 

Why don't you move into Linux? you can do a lot more with the same resources in Linux.

Mine was having problems also, but the problem was it was standing at yanile bank opening the bank running outside and repeating. Saw a fair few people doing the same thing.

 

Well, I don't want to go with 2gb, since that would be a bit too much and most likely double the VPS price. Also, I'm only after 2 bots since there are only 2 LRC worlds, so I could only do 2 without 'IP is in use' etc.

I was thinking and planning on it, the reason I went with Windows was because I use RiD bots which only work on Windows.

I may just go with another VPS and use Linux on that one. I'm sure I wouldn't have to worry about the ram maxing out on Linux either.

Yeah, there have been a few problems that I've seen, but they just did another update.


Also, does unsigned client matter? it offers the choice when you fire it up. but it takes like 5 minutes to load, messes with my gfx options, and disables double clicking, which all take a while to change back.

 

I would switch to Linux definitely.

 

Yeah, I'll do that tonight. Just a hassle though since RiD which I use on my main, only works on Windows.
