I think these changes sound great. That two server system sounded needlessly expensive, especially considering all the downtime. Hopefully we can figure out a system that has Sythe up 95% of the time or more. This site has huge potential, and it has proven so by pursuing on through adversity provided by botnets, Jagex, and other annoying pests.

Server was down/up graded. Hosting costs are half what they were, but server is faster with more memory. Went from two servers (which was not working out) to one, newer, faster server, which appears to be working well.

I'm looking into remote admin arrangement. I might end up hiring a company to monitor and keep the site online.

My current intention for the direction of the site is greater functionality and userbase.

There is a redesign in the works, I've set aside some capital for it.
There is the notion of a sythe.org MMORPG or private server, lingering in my mind.
And other goodies yet to be disclosed.

First things first. Achieve excellent uptime and activity on the boards. All other things (enhancements, improvements, direction) come second.

So far so good, the new server is the fastest thing that i have seen..on a site this large.

So, what kind of 'skin' designs are you looking into sythe? If any as of now.

I belive it was $600 for the two servers, so I guess we're looking at $300.

Sythe, in the future - would you mind if i donated to that cost?

The hosting site i'm going to soon work for JaguarPC has used this site to redesign there website and forum.

If you are interested and want a link to the site so you can send them an estimation on how much your willing to spend on your design, feel free to contact my email or private message me. They have done many jobs even vbulletin sites with over 100,000 users as, I see this site is also a very large site.

i would think he would just find a skin and install it himself, ect.. :O
 
I still wonder to this day what Cheater had originally planned for his vision of the "new sythe" so long ago.
