Questions about Rushing

Hey all,

I'm currently couple a few Pking/Rushing builds. A 15 prayer g mauler, and a weird potential rusher - 50 attack, 90+ strength, 60 def, with 15 or 44-52 prayer.

I'm wondering if there's anyone with experience in rushing or Pking that could help me figure out if it's worth keeping 15 prayer on the obsidian mauler for super low combat, or should I get 52 for more potential smites. I'm looking for something that is both fun and profitable!

Any other suggestions, tips, or builds would be helpful.

 

Stay low prayer Gmaulers are typically low combat and don't risk expensive plus 1's.

 

unless you're going to mostly rush players that have just won a fight(that has like half-full prayer or something), I don't think it's likely for you to get smites on players with full pray.

It's a no for me.

 

Not going to get a lot of smites. Not a lot of DPS. Most of the time if you get a +1 it's from them not having protect on.

 

If you want high KO chance rusher, you build low HP gmauler with max 25 prayer(31 is NOT better on lower str level). Better yet, ironman, so you won't gain HP experience during pvp activities.

70+ combat rushing has way lower KO chance and it feels more like a job after some time. It's same content, rush, poh, recharge, rush. In that combat ranger, you face gmaulers with 90+ hp. Even when they have no protection prayers, 90+ hp is hard to hit.

Same with the 60 def build, with 50 90 60 and 15 pray, you would be 80 combat, that's already voiders with decent hp and defense, obby won't hit well on them. And everyone knows that you can't expect good loot from voiders ...

For the obby mauler I would keep your prayer and hp to a minimum. That being said 1, 13, or 31 pray max. Dont train all your str at crabs, train at blast furnace/barb fishing. Stay 1 defence for both obby/gmaul rushing. For the g mauler 25/31 pray max and low hp is highly recommended.

 

Get lunars, the speed boost from veng delay really throws people off

 

Well yeah you would definitely get lunars for a build with def like a Zerker and so on, but on an obby or g maul pure you can't. Ideally you'd want to rush in lower CB brackets anyway, with all those def lvls and so on you'll be dealing with high hp opponents giving you a lower chance for a KO
