Question from a returning player on bans

Hi everyone!

roughly 8 months ago I sold 900m to help with the down payment on my home. I stopped playing completely after that trade but finally got the itch to get back into OSRS.

I’m unsure how rwt bans or warnings work but was quite worried that if I resume playing that account it’s just a matter of time before I catch a perm ban for that trade.

Is this something I should be concerned about, and do sellers get any type of warnings or is it just a straight perm ban when caught? Thanks in advance any info is appreciated.

I've never seen a RWT Ban occur more than 2 months after the offence whether here on Sythe or on Reddit.

Furthermore since you acted as the RWT Seller and only sold once it's not like Jagex can track you down. Most RWT Bans occur because they detect the seller is trading many people large amounts of gold for nothing and then banning the players who received said gold

In your case? You only sold once as the RWT Seller so Jagex's strategy mentioned above doesn't work.

The guy you sold to? Maybe he will buy more gold from another seller and be banned but only he would be banned as a result of being traced from the other RWT seller, not you.

Yeah, if you haven't been banned yet then you should be fine.

 

Never safe but i would do it myself

 

If Jagex hasn't banned you in so long then chances are your account is still safe.

However multiple RWT trades occurring on the same account will easily make the ban happen, so I suggest you to get multiple trade accounts that can act as mules, never put all of your eggs in one basket.

 

You lose GP after a warning and temp ban I believe. So as pika said, you will be fine
