Question from a complete noob

Didn't read anything but OP so sorry in advance but,

I am not very competitive at all and play ranked all the time. If somebody gives me any issues just /mute @[champ name] and it's fine. Normals irritates me because of the stupid/silly mistakes people do that ruin the game - so at least with ranked people are trying a little harder and makes the game more fun. That being said you don't need to be a hardcore gamer to play ranked for fun in the low elos

 

There's several game modes including ARAM, many of my friends play ARAM exclusively.
Ranked games are a drag, I don't think it's really that fun so I don't bother with them usually

Yeah, you can just play Normals matches if you want too, which have zero effect on your ranking.

When you get more comfortable with the game, you will eventually want to play ranked

 

As many probably already mentioned normal games are fine. They're fun to play and you don't need to worry about rankings and how well you're doing--especially if you're a beginner. However, there will always be those trolls raging... Anyways though, get some friends and play normal games--that's where it starts man.

Get used to the game more and maybe you can start ranking up if you'd like. Ranked games can get pretty stressful though lol.

 

Playing 5v5 or Aram is fun, Esp Aram because you get forced to you champs you don't know how to use or never played before.

 

I love aram just because most people don't take it that seriously (similar to normal games except to a greater degree), and it's a good way to get the first win bonus and just relax after a long day

Honestly.. Playing ranked to me is just testing your skill and finding what your true skill lvl is... but playing norms is more of just practice/fun I enjoy playing norms because I get to play and not have the anxiety of know a ranked match counts! Normals is always a good place to just hang out and play a fun game with friends or by yourself

Yes, in fact, I recommend you play ~1000 unranked games before attempting to play ranked. Watch streamers to learn how to play, and focus on a few champions to main.

 

uhh no.. not 1000... maybe 150-200 is fine

 

300 wins is the standard recommended before you jump into ranked. 1000 is if you want to be placed higher than silver. 1000 will let you expand your champion pool sufficiently, and learn how to actually play the game.

 

Keep in mind he said "play" not "win"...so about 480-520 wins sounds good to me if you want to be placed higher than silver. I can't even see how you'd hit level 30 with only 200 normals played.

 

1000 is a bit too much.. like i said 200-300 games should be fine. i mean you can play 1k unranked games if you want but eventually you get to the point where people stop trying in the unranked games

200 should take you to 30 and i was talking about 200 additional games...
