Question for Sythe in Regards to Stolen Goods

He's saying he wants to do sting ops but doesn't want to be held liable for pretending to sell stolen gold.

 

What if we pretend to have stolen gold to try and catch them though.

 

This. Don't be doing stings unless you talk to a staff member about it. If it looks like you are selling stolen goods we are going to act.

Here is the Situation:
I was going to buy 6M from Limey, then Jetskiiim told me that 6M was scammed/stolen

Then i asked Jetskiiim to prove it, and have been waiting for his reply, at the mean time, Limey wanted to sell gold in hurry, and i haven't heard a reply from Jetskiiim. For security reasons, i asked Limey if it's stolen gold before i trade with Limey, then....

I just prevent a stolen gold trade or just lost a coustomer? What should we do in this kind of situations?

 

They have to be able to prove it and we aren't going to hold it over your head if you try to fix your fuck ups.

I think prevent a potential stolen-gold trade worth more then lose a customer(assume he is a legal seller and sell gold to others at the end)

 

Hopefully there won't be too many situations where speed is an issue. I know we would rather see someone back out of a trade instead of going ahead and causing damage. But again, we aren't going to go out of our way to get rid of you if something does go wrong (as long as you aren't being malicious and you help us and are a good boy).

theres so much liquidity in the RSGP market and since there are so many buyers, he will just sell it to someone (on sythe or elsewhere) anyway. What purpose does kevin declining the trade serve?

 

We do not allow people to deal with maliciously acquired (stolen) goods. Take the moral high ground or get off the damn site.
