Trying to break into gold farming.

Hey guys, used to lurk around the forums alot, then I lost interest in runescape and everything to do with it, and well im back. A couple years older & alot wiser, ambitious to make some money, been thinking about getting into gold farming. Any tips or ideas on how to break into this market? Not so much the market but the farming itself. People say botting is really hard right now, wich ive seen to be the case, already got a 2 day ban on a 12hr bot sesh. Anyhow, any good places/skills to suicide and then dump to mules say after 5 or 6 hours? Maybe flax?

Dont have a whole lot of time to devote, so Im looking to set up something halfway automated.

 

I don't think you can compete and that your time is worth less than the thousands of people in China trying to gold farm. Use your English skills/western background/IP address to try and merchant gold - it seems as if people are able to make a lot more money that way.

 

So you're suggesting buy wholesale gold and then markup and resell?

 

if you have the money try to do it, take the risk. figure it things that work and don't and go from there. you can make some ok money saving the gold

 

Yeah, that's better than farming it yourself. You'll probably make a loss at first as you gain reputation, but if you're set on that path, Nick's advice is solid.

I would say it's more profitable to find something else to do though.

 

Not trying to hijack thread - but at what point would you say that a user is trusted enough to make profit from gold merchanting

 

I just wouldn't try it mate, I rather buy some gold and do the old "buy or less and sell for more" you'd gain much more with that, even though it's gonna take some time to build a steady rep.

 

You can profit without any vouches by using middleman. To be self-sustainable, however is another story.

There is no clear line as to when you are "trusted" enough for majority of the people to go first to you. As long as you find others are relatively comfortable going first to you, it should be good.

Embarking on gold reselling will be very tough especially if you do not have contacts and credibility. You need constant gold supplier who trust you and can rely on you for reliable payment. So it's still advisable to build your reputation first via other means before getting into this highly saturated market.

But yeah, GG is right. You can definitely profit using a MM along the way until people agree to go first to you.

You have to find your own method, no one will really give you gold farm methods.
I suggest trying to bot on an account that has been active.
If you bot a lvl 3 fresh out of tutorial island, you'll get banned the same day.
